That is all, really.

And before the trollhunting starts, I'm old enough to remember the brown pouffe, the unicorn sex, the spider fairy etc etc grin

Why? I have 1 kid at private and 1 at state school (their choices) and many of the issues are the same.

TheGoldenKnid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:25:09

Will there be an entry exam to allow access to this topic?

meditrina Sun 23-Sep-12 16:25:22

So "old enough" to remember when this idea was raised and rejected before?

Rejected IIRC because there is no tidy divide between the sectors an the issues that people want to talk about may occur in any school regardless of its underlying management and funding.

IslaValargeone Sun 23-Sep-12 16:26:24

Is this because you feel it would be more supportive?

So all the haterz can vent.

WorraLiberty Sun 23-Sep-12 16:38:06

Will there be an entry exam to allow access to this topic? grin grin

I intend to buy my way in

usualsuspect3 Sun 23-Sep-12 16:41:01

Will the plebs from the local comp be allowed in?

TheGoldenKnid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:41:52

Will you pay for extra tuition so that you can pass the entry exam, Worra? hmm

HissyByName Sun 23-Sep-12 16:42:18

Cos the rest of us is plebs, innit?

WorraLiberty Sun 23-Sep-12 16:43:39

Of course Golden, I'm saving up my Morrison's vouchers grin

TheOriginalSteamingNit Sun 23-Sep-12 16:44:29

Good idea, I have lots to say about private education so this would be a handy shortcut grin

TheGoldenKnid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:44:59

Well that's just not right, Worra. angry I don't think you're allowed in anyway if you shop at Morrisons. In fact, I'd ban you from Mumsnet for that.

ScatterChasse Sun 23-Sep-12 16:53:27

I suppose it would save time if you were helpful on a particular school/area as any threads about it would be in one topic rather than spread over primary/secondary and education topics.

But it wouldn't be very useful if you were talking about a number of schools or a problem that could occur at either (but perhaps that could go in primary/secondary?).

Perhaps you just have to make sure you put 'private school' somewhere prominent in your thread title.

<sits on fence>

MrSunshine Sun 23-Sep-12 16:54:07

Lobby them in site stuff, where you might actually get an answer.

WorraLiberty Sun 23-Sep-12 16:55:45

Does MN really need another bloody topic?

What's wrong with just starting a thread about private education in the education topic?

<< Hides from Golden >>

EdgarAllanPond Sun 23-Sep-12 16:57:38

or in AIBU, if you are looking for a fight smile

AnOldieButNotSoGoody Sun 23-Sep-12 16:58:41

A private school section would be a bad idea.

The anti brigade would be all over it.

TheGoldenKnid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:59:10

I can see you, Worra! They obviously didn't teach you how to hide well at school. <tuts>

puds11 Sun 23-Sep-12 16:59:56

The ant brigade?

AnOldieButNotSoGoody Sun 23-Sep-12 17:01:30

Erm no.

The anti I said. smile <-- that's not PA either wink

LineRunner Sun 23-Sep-12 17:02:01
