AIBU?

AIBU to think that little girls swim suits and pants shouldn't be high cut

It seems impossible to find a pretty swimsuit that is straight cut on the leg nowadays. AIBU to think a high cut legs for pants (gap) and swimsuits (M&S amonst others) are totally inappropriate and ill fitting for little girls.

High cut legs?
Really?

Dd gets swimsuits from gap and m&s . I haven't noticed them being highcut. Is it a new thing?
Can you link one?

Hope you have a hard hat.

why schrodingers mew?

I went to gap yesterday and the only pants available were high cut legs. They would have covered very little on my DD's.

Aren't they more likely to flap if they are shorts style? Pant style would fit more snugly. Sand in crevices is not amusing, whatever age you are.

Although where I live (tropics) UV shorts suits are the thing, children need to be protected from too much sun.

Oh Pagwatch I talking for a 3 and 5 year old.

I'll see if I can find them, although TBH it's when they are on it's noticable that the cut is high leg.

Bean Because this subject comes up a lot along with bikini tops.

The opinion is always split and always gets heated.

There is nothing wrong with that swimsuit at all.

I assume youre looking for the bottom part to be more like this? (But obv a kids swimsuit, so not this one)

There are plenty on the m&s site that state 'medium leg'

Maybe shop around a bit op? It's easy enough

SchrodingersMew

Well that cut on both my DD's exposes their front bottoms when they move a bit because it is unfathomably narrow, so for my DD's it is a problem.
Thanks for your prediction of the thread though Hmm

I cant see any problem with them at all.

It's just that both DD's were given swim suits and neither fitted due to the narrow cut and high leg. I will shop around though, thanks for the pointer to the medium leg Smile

If it shows there bits then surely it's just a case of them not fitting properly.

And Hmm all you like, have a quick search of threads like this and you will see why I don't think it will end well.

Thanks for the link, I don't even think they need to be shorts just straight and not so narrow cut and high so as not to expose bits Smile

squeaky I thought they'd be ok too but when you try them on you realise just how narrow and high cut they are. They weren't just M&S BTW.

Front bottoms?! Do you mean their vulvas?

What is it about so-called 'high-cut' legs that you dislike so much?

squeakytoy · 22/09/2012 13:56

sounds like they were the wrong size to me. my grandaughter had one of those and it fitted fine..

You might be right squeaky but they seemed tight enough on the body just baggy and very narrow at the bottom.

Oo, a thought!

Maybe you could get a shorts and vest tankini for them? Thats what I used to wear (I was always a tall child and even now I struggle to get a costume thats long enough in the body)

The one you linked to looks ok to me. I cannot say I have noticed this as a problem and I only buy dd comfy practical clothing. I think you are reading too much into this and looking for a problem. anything I have ought from places like marks is very ordinary little girlish not at all high cut or revealing in any weird.

(In order to get a costume long enough in the body, it would then end up being baggy)

The reviews on that props swimsuit weren't great though.

Op.... Sporty styles tend to be medium leg
