Arrived at sainsburys today after fetching dd from nursery, not bothered where we park but 4 empty p&c spaces so popped into one of them.

In the store about 15 mins. Go back out to the car to find a car waiting and indicating for our space, bit odd I thought how does she know that's our car.

As me and dd approach I load her in and dp loads in the shopping.

I hear lady muttering in the car behind "bitch" I turned and she looked away shrugged it off and got in to leave.

Then she winds down her window and says "you don't need that space you lazy fat fucking bitch" I am 27 weeks pregnant.

Me and dp look around, either sides cars are displaying blue badges, I check the sign in front is p&c and underneath painted on the floor is p&c, the blue badge owners are there as there's no more of there spaces.

I politely told her we were in a p&c space so she continued screaming at us we were selfish and she'd seen we had no badge and asked customer services to do a shout out to get us to move, they ofc told her the same as I had, p&c space doing nothing wrong.

Dp just reversed to leave and she pulled in tight to our car so he couldn't move carried on shouting at us to give her, her space. And how selfish and entilted we were, screamed at my 3yo not to look at her.

Anyway we eventually got out fully and left.

Dp asked If she was there when we arrived, I'm pretty sure she wasn't and anyway there were 4 spaces when we had! If a blue badge owner appeared I'd move our car imeadiatly, but since there were 4 p&c spaces I didn't see an issue with using one as we were parents with a child!

Did we really deserve this telling off?

She sounds like she had mental health issues, just try to forget about it.

No excuse whatsoever for calling a complete stranger a "lazy fat fucking bitch" and screaming at a 3 year old. Don't give it another thought, what a horrible woman.

No you didn't deserve it - you had done nothing wrong

Sorry, I don't understand the title? Was she a blue badge owner?

What a weird woman. Not sure what I'd have done. Go back and get the security guard maybe and left DP with Dd, especially after she tried to block you in.

You were in the right though

Wheresmy I can only assume so, I didn't see one, but her rage was about me not having one, and tbh I didn't fancy anymore confrontation by having a look or asking.

thursday as soon as I posted I thought oh shit and nearly ran.

But its been on my mind all afternoon and dps talking it over wondering if we were really out of order. It was most bizarre.

No. And you have what i term an elligible aged child, ie, one who still needs a lot of assistance. I would not have condoned her behaviour at all but do think people unreasonable if they park in p&c spaces and a child of 8 gets out. I also don't think she is justified even if she is pregnant (although have some sympathy if she is very poorly with it) as most women, including myself work, commute, generally get on with it and 27 weeks you are not at major waddling stage. I think you met the local nutter.

california I did consider it but she was too close to my door for me to shift (dp was driving) she was passenger side hence seeing my dd look at her.

Think I'm going to settle with another of life loons and forget about it, and maybe shop at asda in future!

Normally when you see a P&C and disabled parking thread, you can predict how it's going to go. However in your case, you were perfectly entitled to use that space, being both pregnant and having a three year old.

The other driver had no excuse whatsoever to use such abusive language, especially in front of your child.

You did nothing wrong.

However SloeFar does make a point that it may have been a mental health issue. If not though- it was bloody outrageous behaviour on their part!

What a vile woman. She's obviously a mad. I would have pointed out that parent and child spaces are designed specifically for PARENTS with CHILDREN, not for foul mouthed, unhinged nut jobs.
Don't think on it, she's not worth it.

She is nuts, YADNBU. If she had got out of her car and gone to complian surely she could have just as well parked in one of the further away spaces and gone and done her shopping and still walked less far! I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I wouldn't park in a p+c space unless I really really needed a wee

Stupid cow! (Her, not you).
I would have been tempted to remember I had forgotten some shopping and not leave, maybe go and have a coffee.
I am a blue badge holder by the way before anyone slates me

Most car parks in Britain are built on Druidic burial grounds. The old spirits possess a good percentage of the people entering and turn them into raving wild-eyed lunatics.

True story.

No, you did nothing wrong. What she said and did was deeply unpleasant and I wouldn't be surprised if she had MH issues.

I thought this was a troll until I checked your OP name. I agree with sloe, she must have some sort of mental health problem, otherwise who would reasonably behave like that?

Are you ok now? If I was 27 wks pregnant I'd still be bubbling away just now.

I would have called the police if she blocked me in and continued to rant. But like everyone says, it's over, take a deep breath and put it behind you.
