My son broke his ds a few months back. It was the screen, so I thought, so I ordered a replacement on eBay which arrived a couple of weeks ago.
We are going on holiday next week and wanted the ds fixed for the flight (14 hours we must be mad). So on Saturday night, after a couple of glasses of wine, I got the ds, the tools and new screen and set about it. It was a fucking disaster, I nearly broke the casing, lost a screw, couldn't get a bit attached to the circuit board and broke the buttons at the top.
In short I shouldn't have bothered, I'm no good a fiddly bits. All very well but my dh really pissed me off. He came in criticising and stating the obvious (that I'm shit at these things) and generally being quite critical. I told him to fuck off and it was all under control.
It really wasn't under control. So I packed all the bits away and spoke of it no more. Yesterday I decided the ds was proper fucked but essential for our holiday. I went to a cash converters type place to buy a replacement. I got one for £40 at which I was pleased. Just so happens, totally unintentionally, that it's the same colour as the broken one. I got home yesterday, swept the broken one in the bin and put the new one on charge.
Dh came in and said 'oh it's working, who fixed it?!'
So of course I said me.
He laughed and said no really, who fixed it? So again I said 'I did, I said I'd fix it so I did' and kind of went on one about how insulting it was to insinuate I'm not capable .
So, aibu to keep quiet and not confess and admit he was right?
