To have never heard of softcups? [mooncup-esque product]

They sound like an alternative to mooncups? Less environmentally friendly as they're disposable. However, it sounds like you can leave them in during sex.

£4.99 for 8 from Boots.

Boots

Anyone tried them? I use a mooncup already - I could maybe get a few of these to leave in strategic places as I tend to keep my mooncup at home.

Tried them and it's nothing like a mooncup

Gross, gross, and thrice gross.

Agree with Jumping. Gross.

Good or bad MHP?

No grosser than a mooncup which I can cope with!

I've used them too - mooncup is a billion times more comfortable & easier to use ime; they aren't really similar. They are more like a diaphragm but made of weird rustley plastic bag type material, I have half a packet that I really should use up but mooncup is just nicer. You can use them during sex though, they sit much higher than mooncup.

I couldn't help wondering what the 'strategic places' might be where you'd leave them OP Grin

Have you looked at the thing? the size of it in comparison to the womans hand. One wonders whether she has a vagina or a wind sock Blush

The rim is very hard and not as flexible as the mooncup. Also the collection bit is very thin and rustles.

Oh god! I need a wee I'm laughing so much?

rustles?? it rustles??? what is it a crisp packet??

"One wonders whether she has a vagina or a wind sock"

Grin ... yup it is really hard to fold it up small enough to fit in comfortably - the ring the made of hard plastic & I got scratched Shock while trying to shove it up. I'm quite au fait with fannying around in my nethers but wouldn't recommend it. Mooncup is far smaller & softer.

I don't find them like a mooncup at all - I don't find them as comfortable so I only use them for mess-free sex. My fella can feel it so he says he prefers not to go too hard if you follow! The expression on his face when he found it the first time was very amusiing for me. Great to have the option available though.

LOL at strategic places!! Nothing that interesting I'm afraid, the usual car, bag, school, downstairs loo!

They're not sounding good. Reminds me of the femidon I tried once. Never again!

Ah, I must defend the softcup against that. Much, much less awful than a femidom! They are rustly, but not in situ (ime). Although the thought of that gives me the giggles. I have a mooncup, towels in strategic places, and softcups for frisky but tidy moods.

I looked at softcups for mess-free sex during my period but the disposable aspect put me off. I've got some sea sponges instead and they are brilliant, they even soak up his mess and don't need removing until the morning so I can just roll over and go to sleep. I only use them for sex though - I use a mooncup when I am out as it's less messy to rinse out.

They look like a diaphram. You can get those free on the Nhs Grin I used mine for period sex when I had one but thought I was being naughty as they aren't supposed to be used for that?

Eliminates menstrual odour??????

I don't have and never have had any menstrual odour.

I was pleasantly surprised though and would definitely use them again. And if you have washed out your Jam Sponge (or other menstrual sponge) and accidentally left it on view in the bathroom, this is one product that is not likely to cause embarrassment!

jam sponge??? who names these things??? Leave it on display?

heathens, the lot of you

Jumping- arf arf and thrice arf @ windsock fanny.

Also, I don't want a rustly minge. Won't it rustle during sex? That's not sexy, if I really need a period based shag I'd rather just have a bit of mess and do it on a towel! Also, how do I get it out? I don't fancy fishing about in my fage in a public or work toilet!

Mind you, I've never tried a mooncup either. Should I?

Femidoms, what ever happened to those? Do they still do them?

Good q. You would have to do it over a loo or ruin your carpet.

Femidoms- was such a fanfare in '93, huge advertising campaign, and just went downhill from there. Still available but not easy to get- last saw the Inspiras in a chemist about five years ago.

I'm laughing a lot at this thread. They are easy to get out once you have the knack. Will look into sponges though, the disposable aspect is a weakness. Thanks for the tip mybestshoes!

BlueSuedeStiletto - I could rave for hours about the amazingness that is the mooncup. I cannot recommend it enough.
