It is summer, it is not even 6pm yet.. lighten up a bit!

Unless they do this all the time, then YABU.

Start drinking too! Get your music on and maybe pop round and join them.

Call the non emergency police/noise team Yes it is daytime but if this is a regular occurence why should you have to tolerate their anti social behaviour? Disturbing neighbours peace is just that but whether tnat would be recognised by the authorities at this moment in time, I do not know. Worth reporting incase it continues/escalatesI MO

its sunny its saturday afternoon, most jealous of the bbq.

Shut up is something like (Phonetically) zam-ke-neesha but I don't know what level of rudeness it is.

I can understand why you're annoyed OP, even if it is a little unreasonable if this is only a one-off. (If it's common, YANBU at all)

What a sweeping generalisation and racist comment.

(phonetically) it's: chee-ho-bonsh!

It's 'be quiet, please.'

Maybe try the softer, softer approach first grin

SoleSource Sat 08-Sep-12 17:10:39

Whattnewhatthe lol she just means that is what one person told her.

ChocolateIsAFoodGroup Sat 08-Sep-12 17:10:56

what I am half-a-Polish woman. I agree, very hot-tempered and all that. You haven't met my mum, though (full-on Polish woman). What can I say? Stand back everyone! grin

ginslinger Sat 08-Sep-12 17:11:40

Why not try asking them to turn the music down?

And can we have less cultural/racial stereotyping?

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange Sat 08-Sep-12 17:11:46

Gosh, I never realised I was hot-headed because I was part-Polish. I thought it was because I was from Croydon. Thanks for the sweeping generalisation information.

ChocolateIsAFoodGroup Sat 08-Sep-12 17:13:10

MrsT Do we have more in common than just a love of Schokolade?!

I love being half-Polish - so exotic and all that (looks around at UK chockablock full of Eastern Europeans, wink)

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange Sat 08-Sep-12 17:13:31

I also have to put up with hearing a lot of "coming over here, taking our jobs" stuff too which is always pleasant.

TheCountessOlenska Sat 08-Sep-12 17:13:56

You've got the Polish, I've got the Students - Just had (quite merry)one come and retrieve his football from the canal over my back wall, and track dirty water all through my kitchen - never mind, it will be winter soon grin

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange Sat 08-Sep-12 17:14:23

I'm exotic, me. Maybe a love of Schokolade is genetic...

ChocolateIsAFoodGroup Sat 08-Sep-12 17:15:44

MrsT My mum graduated 9th out of 1000 at her medical degree at Manchester Uni. Second highest female graduate. When she started, her English was so bad it took her 2 hours to translate 2 pages of medical text.

She's been a GP for 29 years and everyone bloody loves her - I think her patients are quite pleased she stole some English person's job....

Call the police because a group on women are having a good time in their own garden in the summer during the afternoon! Over reaction?!

Part and parcel of having neighbours surely, no matter where they come from?

mum11970 Sat 08-Sep-12 17:16:50

I'm pretty sure they'll be able understand please be quiet in English.

SoleSource Sat 08-Sep-12 17:17:03

Coming over here eating all our Terry's chocolate oranges !grin

McHappyPants2012 Sat 08-Sep-12 17:18:55
