To not clean this shoe?

Short story - whilst out with DH, DS who is 8, stood in dog poo.

There is now a stand off between them both because DH thinks DS should clean it as he's old enough to watch where he's walking, DS thinks he can't manage and I know they are both waiting for me to do it because let's face it, I usually do! DS needs his trainers for cub camp tomorrow so a deadline is looming!

So who should clean the poo? Me DH or DS?

Don't you have anything to do with it - between them they managed to jump about in dog poo - their problem not yours, pour yourself a large and sit in front of the telly oblivious to their whining.

If it's still there tomorrow, maybe someone at cub camp will clean them? - There's bound to be a 'dealing with dog poo' badge.

I wouldn't blame DH for anything if he is at all like mine. My DH never looks where he goes, and when we are out I always have to warn him of up and coming dog poos (he is 50). I haven't managed to change him in 26 years, so I just think one of the reasons I was put on this earth was to look out for dog poos on his behalf.

In our house the stand off would probably continue until I did it 5 minutes before DS was due to leave for cub camp.

Have you got a pack of disposable gloves like they use at the doctors?

I hate dealing with icky things and having a big box of these in the cupboard has been one of the best £3 I ever spent.

In this case though I would be handing the gloves over to ds and dh to do the job together - if you weren't on the walk then no way should you be doing it think of how you are setting your ds for his future quite - as in it's ok to leave the (literally) shit jobs for your wife to sort out even if she wasn't involved in making the mess :o

Ok so the plan was DS to do it with DH supervising. However DH got fed up with him fart arsing about looking for rubber gloves and a scrubbing brush that he marched outside with the shitty shoe and hosed it down with the pressure hose.

So job done!

(I had my own poo issue to deal with because dd pooed in the bath!)

It's all glamour in this house I'll tell ya! :)
