I've been away for a week with the kids, house was blitzed and spotless before we left and this was our time out treat for half term while DP went to a festival (leaving yesterday returning Monday) so far so good all of us happy and dandy.

DP was travelling up to the festival yesterday morning with some of his friends so they stayed the night before and, as you'd expect when a group of blokes get together, had a few beers, got the playstation out and had a good night of it by the looks of the house... I walked in this morning and it was like walking back into my student halls the night after the big night at the union :(

Before I went we'd agreed that the fridge would have the essentials in (butter, milk etc) and the animals would be fed and i'd feed them as i walk through the door, again, so far so good until we come home and the fridge is completely empty bar a few cans of beer, the animals (rabbits and hamsters) have empty bowls as expected but there is no bag of feed with which to top them up.

So i've been up since 4am for an early flight walk through the front door and am confronted by what amounts to starving animals and student digs and have to go out to replenish our food and the feed for the animals with very tired and stroppy children before I even tackle our holiday washing.

AIBU to put DP in the 'total knob' catergory for the time being and curse his name for the duration of his time at the festival? I love him dearly but ARGH! I could throttle him at times!

Leaving the bastard clearly won't solve your problems- I'd feed him to the hamster!

I'm tempted to cory the least he could do after all this time on his own was clear up after himself and ensure the animals had a bag of feed!

YANBU.

Neck the beer, invent an emergency that requires his immediate return and text him a list of supplies for him to pick up on his way back once you know he's half an hour or so away from home.

Greet him with the hoover and a pair of marigolds, take to your bed while he does the necessary, and send him back to the festival with your blessing.

Knob!

Text him a picture of some nuts in a bag and tell him that is what to expect when he gets home. Grin

Was he working in your absence? Men's penises disable any thoughts of getting food in or cleaning, especially when they are working, didn't you know that?! Wink

cockwomble he worked the bank holiday monday but was off the rest of the time...

I swear men think of only a few things: Beer, Sex, Computers (PS3, Xbox etc), self nourishment, competitive sport and music.

Wow, my DH must be pretty vaccuous then. He doesn't drink beer, wouldn't even know how to turn a computer on, frequently forgets to eat and can't abide any sport whatsoever.

What's wrong with him?????

He's a girl?! Grin

I am only kidding you know, based on another thread...but my DH does mainly concern himself with what canI lists!

YANBU at all. He has been a selfish dick head and when you point it out to him he still probably won't 'get' it.

So bet you could kick his head in right now. Bastard.
