Party RSVPs.... I know I know. My sons party is in two weeks and so far one person from his class has RSVPd. The only problem is he is in special school, with taxi queues at pick up time and not really any opportunity to talk to any other parents. I think they probably just forgot to RSVP as we all have busy lives but I don't know what to do when I can't just ask them. Party is at home but I want to know how much food to buy.

So wibu to ask the teacher if she knows? She did come running out to tell me there was a new boy in class (very small class) and asked if I could invite him to the party as well so he wasn't left out which was fine by me. Could I ask if she knows? Thing is I'm sure she has enough to do.

Sorry for any typos I'm writing this quickly as my son is pulling on my arm haha

I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask the teacher - she's obviously aware of the importance of parties or she wouldn't have asked you to invite the new boy.

print out a note asking for rsvps and ask the teacher to put it in everyone's bags? Apologise for note but say you do need to confirm numbers by X date.

As Hecate suggested I've done the note thing too, if not assume most are coming. Its always this way and I have had acceptances on the day of the party.

I would speak to the teacher. DSIL has this every year with Dniece's SS class - spends the money, makes sure dp, dbil and i are on hand as extra adults, and no one shows up Sad

Breaks my heart when i see posters on here "My dc has sn and never gets invited"

(Lots of family friends come, so we all have a fab time)

And can you put your mobile no on the note so it's easy for them? (I know you shouldn't have to, but...)

My mobile is on. The note thing is a fab idea I'll see if i can get one printed out I didn't think about that. I know people are really busy and just forget. The one that did confirm only did because I asked her as she is the only other class mum that does pick up herself and she said she thought she was texting me but must have been distracted haha. That happens with kids in general never mind SN with challenging behaviours Smile thanks everyone
