To postpone my son's birthday party?

We are having a birthday party for my son on Saturday. We planned to have it on the beach because
a - he loves the beach
b - I am completely up to my eyeballs with work/ family visits/ mess and the beach means no clear up!
Now the forecast is rain. I suppose I could say we'll have it here instead, but it is even more hovel like than usual and I would have to do a half hearted clear up. Plus I do not relish the thought of 10 sugar crazed 3 year olds running riot through the house.

Next weekend it is supposed to be sunny, so would I be unreasonable to postpone? Do you reckon people would be annoyed if they'd kept that date free? DS won't mind, we'll have lots of treats and things for him on the day anyway... WWYD?

tbh forecasts change and what will you do if it is lovely this Saturday and bad the following weekend? I would stick to the plan and have an indoor plan B for dodgy weather. You must have considered the possibility of rain before now?

YAB a bit U. I would clear up the house and have the party. It's June in GB, of course it's going to rain, life goes on.

My birthday is on the 10th and we went to London for the weekend and my abiding memory is wandering around London doing the art galleries in pissing down rain in flip flops. Rain is the default setting.

Don't be a party pooper. Give your DS hus birthday party.

Your in Britain (I assume?) there is every chance the day you rearrange to will also be wet Unfortunatly!

I think the better option would be to have a wet weather back up plan.

I agree you need a plan b for rain. Other people have lives too, they can't keep two weekend dates free for your party! What happens if it rains on both dates anyway?

I've just seen its only 10 kids, come on, it's not that bad! I have worse than that over here just for tea with my friends.

Get a couple of big gazebos to put to up on the beach (wind allowing!)

Okay, I suppose you're right... Just can't believe this is the third year in a row we have to have an indoor party because it's raining! I thought June would be a great time of year for parties.... Oh well!
