(I'm) my DD is watching pats special delivery service, and he seems to continuously loose/misplace all the things he is supposed to deliver. AIBU to think he isnt that good at his job?

I've always thought he was an interfering old busy body!

LittlePandaBear · 26/05/2012 17:46

And he spends ages chatting to everyone!

Have you noticed all the children in the village look like him? Deeply suspicious.

My postman turned up at 5pm the other day. I live 10 minutes away from the sorting office. I'd love a postman like pat!

Postman gives me the creeps. He has a phallic nose and the texture of his hair reminds me of pubic hair. I think the creator was having a laugh at our expense.

Postman Pat I meant, not just any random postman Blush

He's rubbish, I watched one the other day where he had to deliver some fertile eggs, very fast so they could be incubated, he lost them and went all over town with them and they hatched before he delivered them! He only had that one thing to do FFS. The poor recipients had spent a fortune on an incubator and everything. He really needs a performance review.

Considering earlier posts I should clarify they were duck eggs.

Ah, Postman Pat is quite shaggable.

A man with a van will always come in handy.

And taking your cat to work with you is just adorable!

Who cares if he delivers our (over)estimated bills a few weeks late?

:)

I do think some of his customers are taking the piss though. Special delivery or not, royal mail employees really should not have to be delivering live fruit bats and the like.

I still remember the version of the theme song we sang at school:

Postman Pat, Postman Pat
Postman Pat ran over his cat
Blood and guts were flying
Postman Pat was crying
Postman Pat is a very unhappy man

I would love to see that episode.

We have a classic book called 'Postman Pat gets Fat' and it is hilarious. He spends a week pigging out, stealing eating food from everyone on his round, even the kids - then his suit doesn't fit Shock so one day he cycles his round and for the rest of the week says "no thanks, I'm slimming" when the feeders villagers offer him cake and by the next weekend his suit fits Hmm

The new Pat is dreadful. The basic plot line is PP has something to deliver. He messes up. Lots of people help him get it right again. Everyone thanks Pat although he caused the problem and someone else solved it Hmm

YES he is crap!! I love that someone else has posted about this, I was going to the other morning but thought Id be ridiculed Blush

I caught the end of a one the other day where he had to deliver some kind of old fashioned device that plays old film reels and a film that this young guy had made, when they loaded up the film it was full of water cos it had fell out of the back of his bloody van at some point! Instead of demanding compensation from Pat the guy was just like "oh dear, oh no..." and they all sat and watched something one of the ugly kids made instead, hailing Pat as the hero of the day as per.

Theyre all dreadful with irritating voices! And have you noticed how many times they shoe-horn the words "special delivery" in!

I saw one where he got his head stuck in a tree recently. The village idiots then tried to pull him out. Fast forwarding through it on sky plus it looked like he was getting rodgered by half the village!

getdownnesbitt I remember this! Though our version went:

Postman Pat, Postman Pat
Postman Pat ran over his cat
Blood and guts were flying
Postman Pat was crying
Have you ever seen a cat as flat as that!

And I agree he's crap - he starts out on his rounds, as soon as he finds something more interesting to do he fucks off; sod all the rest if the village who are still waiting for their mail!

And he wears his uniform at weekends too (as shown in one episode when he was going for a family day out or something) - does it ever get washed? He must stink ...! Grin

oh this made me chuckle. I said this exact thing to DD aged 5 yesterday after watching the episode where the piano went running off. I said that I dont think I would want him delivering my parcels and DD was very Shock how can you say that mummy? he is great at it!

But least they brought back the original tune even if he is a shit postie.

mycar that is the version I always sing in my head when the song comes on, it takes a lot of effort not to sing it aloud.

The original ones were lovely - we've got some on video. I've not seen many of the new ones (fortunately) but DS2 has had a couple of the annuals and DH says it should be called 'Ted Glenn Saves The Day' not Postman Pat who is completely inept and incompetent!

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 26/05/2012 22:03

Pavlov Sadly I don't have that much restraint, I do sing it out loud! Blush Luckily DS takes about as much notice of that as he does of everything else I say to him! Grin
