to want a lie in

on my birthday.
I always take dc to their swiming lesson on a Saturday Morning. Means leaving at 7.40 am but at least we get rest of day free.
This Saturday its my birthday and we are going out for the day. All good.
However, dh originally said we could all go to swimming together and than go out from there. Than had a rethink and said we would have to drive home anyway so you can pick me up.
Don't know whether I am being reasonable or not as Saturday is traditionally dh's lie in day. He gets up an hour before me Monday to Friday.
Not sure if saying anything would be petty.

I don't think it would be unreasonable or petty to ask him to pick you up on the way through.

Could your DH swap his lie in to Sunday that weekend instead/

Well you aren't being petty at all and your DH should have ruddy volunteered to do this on your birthday!

'DH, Saturday is my birthday and I would love a lie in. Can you take the DCs swimming?'

Ask, get an answer, then come back and moan if relevant.

If you had all gone swimming together you would not have got a lie in anyway.

See, personally, I think anyone who books swimming lessons that involve leaving home at 7.40 on a Saturday morning, is unreasonable. I just can't get past that part of it Grin

back for good we can probably leave a little later. Just like to make sure I am on time as they won't let you in if you are late. Originally we had a later slot but when dc2 started they had to move it.
Accept if we went together I would have to get up but at least I would have help with breakfast etc.

Why does it matter that it's your birthday? What if you had to work on your birthday? Would they let you come in a couple of hours later?

Yes true if it was a weekday I would just get on with it. However, I thought it would be nice to take advantage of it falling on a non working day.
