I told DP I couldn't see through them once, led him to believe he'd developed Superman type powers, quite funny really, until the 7 story "fall" from the window.

I'm northern, the acceptable way to tell them up here is "'Ere Pet, you're flashing your gash!"

Just clap you hands and shout "Oh goody, I needed somewhere to park the bike"

Debeez that's make me laugh so hard, that my FIL (who i don't like and thinks i'm working) just jumped and asked me what I was looking at :)

Sorry if I got you in trouble Lazy Blush

My mam once told a lady her "gusset" was showing (tights had ridden down), the lady the hoiked up her skirt and pulled her tights up while thanking my mortified mother. Not sure if she was without shame or making a point at my mother.

Maybe they know but don't care?

On a side note can anyone tell me when this trend for wearing tights with short shorts came in?

Did it sneak in a while ago?

Salmotrutta,I once heard someone say that if you run out of knickers, give the "crusty side of the gusset a quick rub and turn em inside out."

Crevice is OK - 'cos it's a geographical thing too (in my mind).

Gusset/crotch/moist/panties - all wrong. They are actually against my The Law.

I'm torn between it would be your civic duty to inform said lady that her gash is indeed on show and thinking it might be her intention as surely she checked before leaving the house.

Doesn't everyone do the bending over in front of DH and looking in the mirror test?
