I work full time so when I book a day off work I still get up, take ds to creche, come back and catch up on house work at my leisure catch up on programs recorded, get a nice long shower etc.

however being surrounded by in laws i get caught for babysitting as soon as they see my car outside the door.

i'd rather work!! day is wasted. its my me time day.

AIBU or selfish?

YANBU- if your kids are in creche why on earth would inlaws think you would want their kids?

No is a complete sentence- or park the car around the corner............

Can you park around the corner? Not that you should have to, but if they're so intrusive.
How do you bear it? It would drive me potty.

Worra fucking liberty!

If they try it again say sorry no I've got an appointment in 5 minutes so I can't have the kids.

It's not a lie - you have an appointment (with yourself, to watch tv and relax).

The cheek of it!

scuzy you need to say no, answer the door naked wrapped in a towel and say "sorry, not today thank you"

I would not put up with this!

You don't need a lie or an excuse. Fuck off no is a complete sentence, after all.
