AIBU?

To think Tesco Finest Ready Meals are Rubbish

I should have learned my lesson with these by now. But again at the weekend I bought another ready made meal from Tesco Finest range thinking - oh that looks nice. But it wasn't. Every single one I have ever had has that false ready meal taste that is horrible. I had to promise my DP to never buy Tesco Finest again and to stick to M & S ready made meals instead, which are far nicer, taste of the actual ingredients and are the same type of price.

So AIBU?

YABU

This is MN.

You should be grinding your own corn, weaving your own lentils and wringing the neck of your own chickens

(I agree. Tesco meals are crap and the M&S ones are lovely - me and the kids had a dinner for two for a tenner the other night padded out with extra veg and it was lovely)

I like the mushroom risotto and the tartlets with something or other and cheese in
The chicken kievs are bland and overpriced.
I rarely buy ready meals though, only when ill really, and since DD has learned to cook it'll be even less.

We bought thier "finest" pickled onion. The vinegar was faaaaaar too sweet. I checked the jar and they were definately not labeled as sweet. They were also tiny.

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference macaroni and cheese is gorgeous. I haven't tried any Tesco ones so I can't comment.

Marks and Spencer macaroni cheese is my favourite. Especially if you put in in the oven instead of the microwave. No other supermarket macaroni cheese comes close (although no Sainsbury's round here so my investigation into macaroni is not complete)

Their Steak Diane & the Pea & Ham Soup is blinking lovely.

And the Colombian Coffee Ice Cream...oh my! Truly orgasmic Blush

But the rest is over priced rubbish, in my experience.

Dp was most concerned when I bought myself some ready meals for the nights he has late shifts. I bought weight watchers ones. Not awesome but certainly better than Tesco's "finest" if that's thier finest I shudder to think what their value one's taste like.

Their chicken, prawn and chorizo paella is gorgeous, so is the Finest Lasagne, but the fish pie was a bit watery. Most ready meals are rubbish TBH, but that's the price you pay for the convenience factor I suppose.

I also quite like their chicken, prawn and chorizo thing but it is the only one that I like.

Crocko, best shop bought ice cream I've ever had is their coffee one, DH gets threatened with my spoon if he ever tries to get near it.

Not tried their finest ready meals yet, but their fresh pasta is alright.

I find the film lids really easy to get off. Much better than Weightwatchers ones.

Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus meatballs & potatoes ready meal is bloody larvely! I'm not keen on the chicken meals as the chicken is always dry and chewy >

Some of them are ok, some aren't.

I thought the sweet potato and pepper lasagne looked lovely. It was disgusting.

The tesco finest chicken tikka masala is bloody gorgeous, better than anything m & S can come up with.

We had beef in red wine - was disgusting. And M & S ready meals are lovely and cost the same.
