Is it too much to ask for some support?

We're living abroad but are now moving back to England. I have had to organise the whole international move and it's been exceedingly stressful as English is not the main language here. At the weekend the central heating broke down, so it"s been bitterly cold inside-I have been fighting with the landlord to get the central heating fixed but he is insisting that we will have to pay for it!!!

Sorry to get to my point... today its now leaking and husband NOTICES this but drives off to work only to phone me whilst I'm walking my little girl to school to tell me and leave me to sort it all out. Surely he could have stayed to help?At least he could have climbed up into the roof space to look for the leak? Am I asking for too much support here? I don't think I can can cope with much more.... sorry that sounds so dramatic But i feel so stressed!

I think in your shoes I would feel exactly the same. What a stressful time you've been having! However, I suppose that from your husband's point of view he has to get to work and there's nothing much he can do about that.

What does your contract say about who should fix the heating?

Award yourself a cup of Brew and a chocolate biscuit for having a hard time this morning. Hope your day improves and that your move goes well.

I know but he can work from home whenever he wants to.......

The contract says that all major works have to be done by the landlord but it doesn't define major!!!personally I think broken central heating is quite major Unfortunately as a foreigner you immediately get ripped off here!!! There are people who still drive to other countries to get their cars serviced etc having lived here for years.....

Thank you I hope it does too!!!
