DS(10) sang a solo in his concert last week. I wasn't expecting it and he was really good. Not bad for someone who would take part in anything a couple of years ago.

Watched my grandaughter the other day...she was an Angel.

She yawned all the way through, and was making hand rabbit shadows on the screen behind Grin

We're having Christmas fry-up rather than turkey and all the trimmings, so have time for a family ride on Christmas morning instead of slaving in the kitchen. (first time of not cooking proper lunch in 20 odd years) I've got battery fairy lights, tinsel and santa hats for the horses to wear, and might plait baubles into their manes as well.

kids going to their dads so i am spending xmas day being spoilt by MIL, rather squiffy with lots of adult humour, then getting dc's back on boxing day to have a lovely family xmas with all the wonderful xmas magic :) best of both worlds!

Forgot to add he is thirteen and we've never had overnight respite because of shortage of spaces.

I am going to strip my hallway and landing and paint it, so it looks nice for the new year, I'm really looking forward to it. I have ordered a no fuss throw it in the oven dinner (beef wellington) from booths, so no hours of prep to do! Woot.

It's not Christmas related but I'd like to share this sweet letter with you.
Last summer my son was playing in the park with his fishing net. Up runs a very boisterous dog, who grabs net and runs off. Owner very apologetic. Catches dog but net chewed through!! Sad boy, cross Mum. Owner apologises and wants to buy replacement but doesn't have his wallet. Asks for our address to send money. So I give it but think, won't see him again.
When we get home, there is an envelope on the mat. £10 and this letter:
Dear , I am very sorry for chewing your fishing net and upsetting you. I have been sent to my basket for being naughty.
Please use the money to buy a new net and maybe get yourself a little present to cheer yourself up with. Woof from Flapjack.

I was just tidying DS's room and found the letter again.
Made me smile. Xmas Smile
