For a week with work when I am 36 weeks pregnant. This is our 3rd, but we lost our first son due to a birth accident a week after he was born. Ds1 was 9 days late, with ds2 I started contracting at 37+ 5 before an ELCS at 38w. Another ELCS booked for 38w and no reason to believe I will go into labour earlier this time, but I'm really scared. I know it's important for his job, and the trip can't be postponed but his boss is going and am sure it's not that vital that he go.
Thoughts please..

i feel for you. unfortunately in the world of work, he probably has to play the politics game, especially as his boss is going...
how long is he away for? does his boss know how far gone you are?
do you have family or a close friend who could come and stay whilst he is away?

My partner and I had an agreement: no overnight travel - and absolutely no foreign travel - from 36 weeks.

Surely he can whip back pretty damn quick from Paris if he needs to? It's not like he's going to the other side of the world.

I think yabpossiblyalittleu, but very understandably. But I think if it's important to his job, he should probably go - just make sure he has emergency plans to get back super-fast should you need him.

My partner was in Rome when the ash cloud grounded planes and led to heavy pressure on the Eurostar. He didn't need any convincing for our agreement after that.
