the man next door has friends in. i can hear every word they are saying. i can hear the kettle boil and the toilet flush, i can hear them setting their cups/bottles/glasses down on the table. i can hear their mobiles vibrating. i know that one of them is calling in sick on monday so he can recover from sunday night. i know where he is going on sunday night and who he is meeting.

i know it's not his fault the walls are so thin. i know he hears the same from my side (although i never have friends in). it's his home and he isn't being excessively loud, just normal chatting but it is sooo loud when you are trying to sleep. he kept me awake last night with his snoring and now this. i'm shattered. Sad

Everything sounds so much louder when you're tired as well...

And Shock at your next door neighbour keeping you awake snoring!

How did they manage to get away with making the walls so thin?

not sure. it's council house that was built in the 80's. yes his snoring is sooo loud. i didn't realise until i swapped rooms with the dcs on thursday night. i'm going to have to work out what time he goes to bed and try to get to sleep before him and hope it doesn't wake me.

Sorry for your woes. I have a (D)H laying right next to me snoring his head off, like he does EVERY night. I don't remember the last time I slept through the night without nudging him, or poking him. The only thing I can do now is just stay on the laptop until my eyes are dropping and then I can sleep.

oh mrblooms!! you're right, someone else always has it worse!! Grin

my mum snores really loud and my dad gets kept awake by it, i haven't lived with her for a long time so i have forgotten what it is like. i was lucky with my ex, he didn't snore. (he did alot of other annoying things but not snoring)

No no! Hearing my neighbours toilet flush and kettle boil would piss me off aswell. At least I know what is awaiting me at bed time each night!

Angry Birds is my friend through the night!

i couldn't keep my eyes open any longer so turned the light out and tried to sleep. was still awake at 2am!! they were still going then, no notion of quietening down. and then the dcs decided to wake up at 6am rather than 7am. it just really isn't my time for seeping ATM.
