AIBU?

to be both reasonable and have PMT simultaneously?

I had a major hissy fit strop at DH yesterday. I may have used phrases like "treating the house like a hotel" and "domestic servitude" and I may have shown him where the dishwasher is. I may have cried a little.

Then, I started my period. This does not in any way negate the reasonableness of what I said and how right I am and how wrong DH is.

And he's way too sensible to say a word (other than sorry, which he's said a lot) but I bloody know he thinks my hissy fit was PMT, while I know it was just an unlucky coincidence. It's gutting, isn't it? All my good work undone by nature.

I had a hissy at my DP, it was all stuff that had been building up, but had tried to put it over in a calm way. Obviously it didn't sink because nothing ever changed enough. Pmt and I couldn't keep it in any longer. The true depth of my feelings came out! Not the edited version.

But did the PMT version work? And was the PMT version the truer, more accurate version?

It was the truer, more accurate version. It's worked this weekend, so we'll see how it goes.

Just because you have some extra hormones floating around does not mean that your feelings are worth any less. If you are anything like me, the only thing that goes at this time of the month is my patience and the biting of my tongue.

DH got a long hard stare when he left his plate on the table tonight, fortunately he is bright enough to realise that he didn't want it to get to the opening my gob stage - this was after falling asleep after coming back from the pub, when there are 100's of jobs which need doing, my patience was very thin.

Everytime I have a hussy fit, dh turns round and asks me when am I due to have period even if I have just finished.

He puts all hussy fits down to pmt so he can ignore them! Idiot! Him not you op!

Fucking hate it when men think that it's OK to put a row down to hormones. Angry

Fucking hate that I am worse affected by my hormones than I'd like to admit, and that every month occasionally I go off on one while premenstrual when I'd otherwise let it go. Angry

YANBU.

DH asked me earlier if he'd done something to annoy me. Apparently I was being a bit short with him.

After berating him saying no, I realised I've just started taking a new pill, as of a few days ago. So, um, yes, I am a teensy bit hormonal. Oops.

I long for PMT again now i have hit the menopause. talk about unreasonable. i end up rowing with myself!! the night sweats keep me awake all night so no wonder i am miserable in the morning and feel the need to say it like it is. enjoy your hormones whilst you still have them i say.

I hate this. It's pretty much the only thing about my DP that irritates me. I'll express my feelings about something and he'll accuse me of being hormonal. Like that has any bearing on how I feel about, say, fox hunting or Christmas or what to tell our children about Santa.

Hormones, as a rule, don't come into it. It's called "DP being a twunt".
