we bought an 8 seater Toyota Previa about 2 years ago off ebay. £900 and it's fantastic. Diesel, really reliable, parking sensors, seats you can swivel round to all sorts of configurations. $ wheel drive.
Just fab. ( bound to now spontaneously combust on the drive

I'm not sure where you are in England but have you tried adtrader? Loads of cheap cars on there. If you specifially need 6/7 seats then a zafira isn't a bad bet. They are quite cheap and (in my experience) pretty reliable.

You can get automatic Toyota Previas quite easily, they seem to go for about £1200.

Mostly petrol though I think.

Oh God, what happened to your Toyota??

We bought ours because we needed the space/seats, but it does feel old. Do they have fatal flaws?

Our brake pads/discs apparently need work already.

My toyota lucida estima has a dodgy head gasket too but the last rac man put some german version of k-seal in which is actually china based and it seems to have fixed it... Apparently its a common fault with the imports as the water in japan is really hard and its the limescale that cracks the head gasket.... I love my toyota but i think i will need to replace it, parts are expensive too but you can get some on ebay (new starter motor for £90 as opposed to £300 from garage... Etc)
