To eat the rest of this cheese with a glass of wine?

Have been chipping away at this block of cheese all evening in a 'I'm only having a tiny slice, so it's not like I'm actually eating it' kind of way.

But I can't sustain the denial any more. I want to eat the rest of the cheese until it's all gone. And I want to drink wine while I'm doing it.

Tell me it's ok.

Moomim Mon 24-Oct-11 22:11:45

what kind of cheese?

AgentZigzag Mon 24-Oct-11 22:12:31

Woohoo! 1970's cheese and wine party grin

Eat it, eat it until it is no more.

What cheese is it?

If it's brie YABU.

Thingumy Mon 24-Oct-11 22:13:53

knock yourself out!

Yanbu!

WhereYouLeftIt Mon 24-Oct-11 22:16:01

YABU, unless you also have nice biscuits - water biscuits, oatcakes - than you are being extremely reasonable.

madonnawhore Mon 24-Oct-11 22:16:47

'Hello? Is that the 1970s? Sorry, I can't talk right now. I'm stuffing my face with good, old fashioned, mature cheddar. And it's lovely.'

<cheesegasms>

SweatTart Mon 24-Oct-11 22:20:10

Only if it's red wine.

If so, you have my blessing, my child.

babybarrister Mon 24-Oct-11 22:20:15

yanbu - Iam moving over to the fridge now ...

madonnawhore Mon 24-Oct-11 22:21:02

wine for everyone!

There should be a [cheese] emoticon.

That was so good I feel like having a post-coital cigarette. And I haven't smoked in 3 years.

devonshiredumpling Mon 24-Oct-11 22:22:29

madonnawhore Mon 24-Oct-11 22:24:22

PointyBlackHat Mon 24-Oct-11 22:25:20

Nooo, serious farmhouse mature cheddar and cabernet sauvignon!

babybarrister Mon 24-Oct-11 22:25:33

just polished off some pepper covered "wealdway" goats cheese smile www.nutknowlefarm.co.uk/index.html

PointyBlackHat Mon 24-Oct-11 22:26:01

Cheese is probably a Class A drug.

madonnawhore Mon 24-Oct-11 22:27:21

Zigzag I cannot be left alone with stilton. Ever.

Thingumy Mon 24-Oct-11 22:29:22

What pointy said.

ItWasABoojum Mon 24-Oct-11 22:37:20

Damn you! I have a camembert in my cupboard. It won't be ripe yet, but now I'm going to have to eat some, and it's ALL WRONG!

AgentZigzag Mon 24-Oct-11 22:46:54

What's The Cheesefreaks Consensus on babybel?

I can't work out whether my love of it is because I only seem to eat it when we're out/about, starving, have nothing else, which enhances the experience, and I'm not 100% confident of this assesment because I suspect I'm being a bit of a traditional cheese snob.

confused

<waits for all the posters with cheese in their MN name to get a sniff that a cheese thread is on the cheese board>

AgentZigzag Mon 24-Oct-11 22:47:50

(I think I just heard your camembert wispering encouragement to you Boo)

winnybella Mon 24-Oct-11 23:27:00

Oh, damn you, you reminded me of that last surviving bit of Roquefort in the fridge angry

babybel is all right imo. Better than boring emmental, for example. Obviously not up there with all the greats but still quite good.
