I know it's passive aggressive, but it's such a great tool for sarcasm and some people are just asking for it and it looks nice.

What do I mean by that?

Who knows?

I like it but it really pisses me off when people over use it

I can't understand a fucking word some people say at times

Yeah it's ok grin

PointyBlackHat Thu 20-Oct-11 21:50:48

Oooh I see I'm not alone grin

Hello, I'm a wanton strikethrough abuser YANBU

MinnieBloodBar Thu 20-Oct-11 21:52:02

PointyBlackHat Thu 20-Oct-11 21:52:12

Trills now you've got me trying to visualise what an enigmatic face emoticon would look like, and how you would type it. Thanks Not.

Minnie I have been known to use it in the odd work email with people I know really, really well, when they need a laugh.

horMOANSnomore Thu 20-Oct-11 21:52:59

I love it and have started using it in emails at work blush everyone thinks I'm mad

Popbiscuit Thu 20-Oct-11 21:54:04

Sometimes I think in strikethrough. Is that weird?

horMOANSnomore Thu 20-Oct-11 21:54:19

Can you strikethrough a whole sentence, rather than on a word by word basis as that takes ages?

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe Thu 20-Oct-11 22:10:25

It is very much overused atm.

Less is more etc.

PointyBlackHat Thu 20-Oct-11 22:12:08

bibbity I do agree that less is more. Except on this thread where more is more. And more. And more

ScaredKitty I strike through whole sentences regularly. As long as you don't leave a space between the -- and the first letter of the sentence, and also no space between the last letter of the sentence, it works.
Like this sentence, which I have definitely not done one word at a time because I am too lazy

Euphemia I will follow your link tomorrow because I am off to bed. I know, what about MN etiquette, how dare I start a thread and then slope off to sleep, but there it is.

Goodnight Sleep tight.

horMOANSnomore Thu 20-Oct-11 22:41:41

Minnie I use Outlook at work which is edited in Word, so strikethrough is a font option (you don't even have to use hyphens).

MinnieBloodBar Thu 20-Oct-11 22:52:10

<wonders if it's possible to C&P strike-outs from Word straight into gmail>

<highly suspects friends might not get it anyway>
