AIBU?

To expect people who have bought from me on ebay to have the decency to leave feedback.

I've got 100% good feedback on my profile so I know I'm doing it right. I pack all items in tissue paper and have even pressed some items that got creased and get them in the post ASAP, yet I have about 10 buyers in the last month who have not left feedback. Are they lazy or just plain f@*%!ng ignorant?

Lazy, I hate it when that happens, it happened to me sometimes.

Bored with this - I've over 2K feedback and frankly FB means nothing

Feedback is voluntary. Some people leave it - some don't. You might as well say "I pay promptly- but the seller wants me to tell the world how brilliant she is- why should I? I paid, she dispatched. End of transaction."

YABU to think that everyone should run to post feedback - I only go on eBay when I want something in particular so I might not log back in for weeks. Besides, as long as it's 100% does the exact number matter??

Some people have better things to do like MNing

I hate it!!!! I always leave feedback straight away if someone has bought from me and paid and as soon as i receive my item if bought! What pisses me off is that alot of people seem to wait until you leave feedback for them before they do it for you or theyre just bloody lazy!!!I think you might have hit a nerve!! Blush

YABU there are no rules about it. You are selling items and nobody HAS to leave feedback.

It's not ignorant to not leave feedback....it's ignorant to expect it.

YABU.

I leave feedback when I remember and many others tend to do the same. I hate, hate, hate being nagged into leaving feedback.

You've been paid, getting feedback is a bonus.

Nag me too much and you might even get a neg!

Try to chill out about it, most people leave feedback in the end.

I hardly ever leave feedback quickly. I wait and then do loads in one go. I'm lazy and I find it rather a chore - I would imagine lots of other people do too. It's not a crime.

i buy and sell on there. i tend to not leave feedback when i am pissed off/disappointed with an item as i don't like to leave neg but can't bring myself to leave pos', perhaps you should be relieved that you haven't always been left feedback... :)

I regretted leaving positive feedback for a buyer as soon as she had paid and then 2 days later did a charge back for £30 on my paypal account saying she hadn't received the item! WTF?

I couldn't do anything about it as the item was sent first class without tracking or insurance and all I had was a PO receipt with a hand written postcode (by the PO staff) to prove I had sent it

Paypal refused to take it as proof so the buyer had me over big style

I will only ever leave feedback for buyers who have received their item and are happy enough to have left feedback for me - otherwise they will have to open a dispute

Oh... and I never nag for feedback either Smile

I leave feedback for brilliant service, don't leave it for neutral.
Like Hamster said, you've been paid for it - there is no obligation for people to leave feedback.

okay, done, thanks for the reminder :)

Feedback is voluntary.

Sorry but it is not compulsory.

Ive over 1400 feedback and not been left about 200 by buyers and sellers, I don't lose sleep over it because I have a life.

Probably just lazy. I used to leave feedback straight away but I've been shopping on eBay for years and it's got a bit boring now so I tend to leave it in batches, usually every week or so though so noone is left waiting too long.

Do you leave feedback for them or wait for them to give you feedback first?

I only sell occasionally but, since they changed it so that sellers can only leave a positive, I usually leave it on the day I post the item out eg. "Thanks for fast payment, item posted today" which buyers seem to like (and it means I can post a follow up if they turn out to be a pita!!)

Voluntary...not lazy and certainly not 'f..ing ignorant'. Seriously - they bought from you and don't owe you anything past paying, just like any other 'shop'.

I dont use ebay (buy through DH if I need, its safer for my finances!) but I just popped in to say that, if I did, this is exactly the sort of thing which I would forget to do, and I would mean to, but it would go out of my head every time until I wake at 3am in a cold sweat thinking of all the things I forget, and I would feel very guilty and hope someone wasnt upset and posting on MN about it.....

I generally leave feedback but o it in a batch so not 2 minutes after psotman arrives, believe me if there is a problem they will let you know!

it's a bit of a pain when you are starting and want to build up feedback but once upto about 50 stars it no longer matters, never ever ask nag for feedback you will get marked down on DSR and they are more imprtant than feedback, in fact keep an eye and DSR they need to be 4.7 or better

feedback is not part of the transaction , re "cannibal" unless I have sold for 99p I do not leave feedback for buyers until they have left feedback and are happy then i reciprocate I learnt the hard way too

most business sellers leave feedback automatically it is a bit silly sometimes when you have just bought 50 envelopes and get a row of * or worse a bouncy Wavy line of symbols saying you are the best person on earth for having managed to select a few envelopes and pay for them

I fucking hate feedback.

I hate being nagged for feedback.

Especially from the seller I bought 500 nappy sacks and various other baby related bits and bobs.

Twice a day she emailed me asking for feedback...Look at the theme of my purchases, I don't have time to pee.

It's mainly laziness or forgetfulness

Yep Sarahtigh, I learned my lesson - not to be so gullible when leaving feedback, the buyer had paid well over the odds for items because she clearly wanted them badly but didn't want to pay for them ...now she has my goods and my money ...GAH!!!

Report
NadiaWadia · 18/10/2011 23:22

But CannibalBits, how do you know she was lying and did in fact receive the items?
