to hate competitive misery

Why do people feel the need to do this?
" I never had x as a child and I survived"
" I never had amy help when my 20 children were small and I survived"
"I breastfed till mine were 22 and my breasts fell off but I never moaned"
" I walked 50 miles in the pitch dark to school and look at me now"
We all find different things difficult/stressful and unless you are being particuarly precious competitive misery is really unheplful

I'm so guilty of this. I am a terrible martyr.

You were lucky.

I feel much worse about this than you do, and I don't have a cleaner.

Really OP is this all you have to worry about? Come back when you have some real problems

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood Sun 16-Oct-11 17:48:35

<wanders off to look for some "real problems" down the back of the sofa>

I feel a four yorkshiremen skit comming on.

I gave birth to triplets with no drugs, In a field, On a nettle bush, With jerward playing on loop! and I never complained.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood Sun 16-Oct-11 18:01:14

well at least you had a nettle patch. I had to make do with some dung. Some people don;t know their luck.

Cathycomehome Sun 16-Oct-11 18:03:27

Dung?? You were lucky. I had a bed of nails on top of a bed of fire. God, some people don't know they're born.

HowlingWereWolfBitch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:04:23

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood Sun 16-Oct-11 18:05:14

I suppose the dung was warm and soft. Yeah, good days.

WitchOfWoo Sun 16-Oct-11 18:05:27

Dung? Luxury!

OneNerveAndYouAreOnIt Sun 16-Oct-11 18:08:49

hobnobsaremyfave Sun 16-Oct-11 18:09:18

Triplets !FFS I had my sextuplets on a raft in the middle of the North Sea by moonlight and I breastefed them all exclusively til they went to university.

HowlingWereWolfBitch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:10:04

Bah! You had a BED of fire? At least you were warm! Titwas Antarctica where I gave birth. On a Friday! In rush hour!

HowlingWereWolfBitch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:11:02

At least you could see what you were dooin.

hobnobsaremyfave Sun 16-Oct-11 18:11:10

microfight Sun 16-Oct-11 18:16:56

If that's all you lot have to moan about you need to get some perspective and are obviously not busy enough.

Pagwatch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:17:18

I agree.

I think sonetimes people are trying to convey that the problem the op is experiencing would look a bit better with the benefit of having gotten a fucking grip a little experience and context.
But the 'whip me, beat me, call me names' brigade are fucking annoying.

I hate the present ones
Slightly unloved op "aibu to be sad that my dh of 9 years didn't given me so much as a card for my birthday?"
Beligerant fucker "you're lucky, my dh just fishes a shite out of the bog, sticks a candle in it then asks where his supper is"

Beying dreary.

As are those who go on threads with headings like "thinking of treating myself to a designer handbag" to post "shock I just never understand this"
Well stop fricking clicking on them then
I don't constantly click on chicken keepers to post "but my garden is too small and they are clucky fuckers"

Dull arses.

Pagwatch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:18:05

Beying dreary is Shakespearean ennui

Cathycomehome Sun 16-Oct-11 18:19:38

That bed of fire WAS a luxury - the common oiks next door only had a (disposable) barbecue on top of their bed of nails.

HowlingWereWolfBitch Sun 16-Oct-11 18:22:18

but my garden is too small and they are clucky fuckers

Well atleast you have a garden Pag. I live in a well sad
