AIBU?

To ask McDonalds not to charge me for extra sauce!

Went to McDonalds this lunch time. I ordered a Sweet Chili Chicken deli wrap, with no mayo, and DF ordered a Chicken Legend with salsa, and wanted it with mayo too (option is either salsa or mayo). McD's boy said yes, thats fine, but its a 20p extra charge. I pointed out that my order was without mayo, so could they not forgo the charge? After much (!!!!!) discussion with the manager, it was decided we could be let off the 20p lmao!

So was I being unreasonable?

Next time I go, I might ask for a 20p refund for having no sauce :p (I don't like sauce in general!). In fact if I ever get a breakfast from there, I order a plain bacon roll. One time I asked for extra bacon, as I saw some other guy ordering the same and thought, oooh why not! They charged 20p extra for the extra bacon... hmmmm... you know where I am going on this one ;)

Does anyone think charging for sauces is a bit stingy anyway?! I dunno, maybe I'm getting grumpy in my old age!

You are overthinking
And unreasonable to go to macdonalds as an adult and not taking the kids
You know there are really nice places to go for lunch

I'd only ever go to macdonalds with the kids

Madness

20p extra for sauce, a bit much. 20p extra for extra bacon, a fair deal. Hell, a slightly larger coffee's 30p extra!

That is all that needs to be said on the matter. Wink

Yes but, 20p for extra sauce, or extra bacon, why can't I have no sauce, extra bacon for no extra charge :p Surely it would even things out!

Sorry, I am thinking way too deeply about this!!!

I went to BK and had a Whopper meal on my own without dd and it was lush. First time I could enjoy a meal out without having to throw it down my throat and run out because dd (SN) has gotten bored of eating and wants to go home.

Much prefer BK to MaccyDs burgers taste of real burger and the chips are lovely.

worraliberty · 13/10/2011 23:46

I prefer BK too for the same reasons!

Plus you get proper salad in a Whopper and not thinly shredded shite

Having said that, I do love a Big Mac cos of the special sauce

I'm bloody hungry now Sad

They ABU to charge you 20p. Not cause of the cost, but cause there's no way to put it through the till anyway so it fucks up the stock levels Grin
says the grim voice of previous mcds management

ooooh the special sauce Grin ummmm. I ate the whopper meal for tea and it filled me up for the rest of the evening until the morning, a MaccyDs would not do that, would need a whole new meal soon afterwards Grin, not that I would eat a second one. Just have a bowl of cereal instead to supplement.

never had McD's charge for sauce! - ours gives us a load of sachets every time even if I remember to tell them I don't want them! Fair enough charging for the bacon though

See I'd rather remove my eyes and replace them with pickled onions than go to a coffee shop.

I hate the smell of them, I hate the over inflated prices and I hate the way you need to remortgage your home to buy a choc chip muffin Grin
