To think that there are some words that should be obliterated from the English language?

Like 'snicker' for example, it makes me think of spotty American teens, or even worse, the bloody Twilight books where they were snickering all over the effing place. Whoever heard of a snickering vampire fgs?!

I don't like the word 'giggle'. Particularly if used by a man for some reason.

"We have a right old giggle".

Yuck!

Yes, abolish snicker and then we can reclaim our right to Marathon bars.

"Lol". "Lol" should be obliterated from everything everywhere. It should burn in the fires of hell! It should be ripped limb from limb! It should be so far destroyed that no trace of it should ever be found!

And "Babygirl"

As in teenage girls (and older I have heard) saying "Hey babygirl, are we going out for some alcopops tonight?"

I also don't like the word 'belly'. I prefer tummy which makes ordering in the butcher a tad embarassing but I don't like the word 'belly' so there.

I refute the implication that 'lol' is a part of the English language.

With you there Grimma Grin

I also dislike 'munch'. Now I have said those I shall stop hogging the thread.

You couldn't have 'the soft undertummy of....' though.

Grimma sadly I wish I could agree with you. But if language is defined by what we speak and what we write, then unfortunately it is part of English language. What really gets me is when people say it out loud. You can't just laugh? You have to say "lol"?

Oh and when I was younger I thought "belly" meant "willy" Blush
