AIBU?

To think womenkind are a truely nasty species

I saw two mothers at a church group with babies who were roughly six months. One of them was bottlefeeding and had decided to introduce solids at 3 months, the other was still exclusively breastfeeding at 24 weeks. The lady who had introduced solids was very vocal about her decision to introduce solids and was suggesting that the other mother was somehow starving her child by delaying weaning. The mother who was waiting to wean was equally nasty and told the other woman that she was wrecking her baby's health by stuffing it with wallpaper paste.

I felt it was sad that here were two women who were both insecure and it was sad that they could not agree to disagree on parenting decisions. It was sad that they could not at least try to be friendly. The world would be a boring place if we always agreed.

It is sad that many women respond to bitchyness with more bitchyness.

That's a rather sweeping generalisation and unfair. People have the capacity to be truly nasty regardless of sex.

Surely your title should read 'humans'.

YANBU. I always like to make assumptions about an entire species based on a conversation between two people.

Or possibly
' to think that some people are opinionated about their choices'

Or
'all women should burn in hell forever mwahahahaha'

One of those two would be not stupid

Did this really happen like this? I just can't imagine two women having a verbal punch up about BF/FF at a church group Shock Confused

OP - maybe you might want to retitle your thread?

YABU.... 'Womenkind' is not some homogenous group. If you meet some nasty women they don't represent all of us. Don't be such a misogynist....

Truly I agree. They are absolutely vile AND SHOULD BE FUCKING EXTERMINATED IF I WAS DAVOS I WOULD SEND THE DALEKS IN AND THEY WOULD TWIRL THEIR DUSTBIN HEADS AND POINT THEIR METAL BITS AND SHOUT "EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE" AND THEN THERE WOULD BE FUCKING WORLD PEACE.

I have never, ever heard anything remotely like that. Or are you extrapolating?

I thought men and women were the same species ???

So - you met two women who were insecure and defensive, and lashed out at each other rather than calmly saying "Oh well, I'm fine with you insulting my choice, I'll be really supportive of your opposite choice which of course won't make you think I'm backing down about my own"

And you reach the conclusion that an entire gender are "nasty".....

Whereas men of course are always lovely and supportive of people who disagree with them?

Maybe women turn evil if they enter church premises?

Best not try it then! Grin

No, not a nasty species, just that some can't leave any other alone for some reason.

I actually don't believe that conversation ever took place.

And if it did you have jumped to an extraordinary conclusion from it.

MN has gone bonkers (well, more bonkers than usual).
