Is anyone else here with EDF Energy?

I haven't been sent a bill since May. I've tried emailing and calling and can't get through. I'm worried that we'll now get a bill for hundreds of pounds by the time they can be arsed to send one. I can't find my account number so can't give my own meter reading and thus need to speak to someone but they don't answer. I just wanted to know if anyone else wasn't getting their bills.

They don't send us bills either although they do take the monthly direct debit so I assume it's OK.

Yes, I had my bills last week together with the annual useage statement which makes pretty scarey reading.

You haven't opted for paperless biiling have you ?

We get a yearly paper bill, yesterday got a lovely letter telling us the prices are going up.

Phoned them last week, it took over an hour on hold to get through to someone.

Yes I am and we had the same issue. Apparently I now have to log on to my account to view my bills. We had weeks of shennanigans with them because they had never given us any log in details Confused

We sorted it out eventually but they just don't answer the phone. I got them to call me by sending them a really snotty email via their website...I told them that as they haven't sent me a bill and don't want to talk to me they obviously didn't want my money.

The upshot of it all is that we're changing supplier!

Thanks guys. I have phoned them almost weekly since August, sometimes on hold for 20 minutes before I give up. I'm so pissed off with them. I don't even know who to change to as I had nightmares with British Gas so I'm not going back to them but as soon as I've paid the latest bill with EDF, I'm switching again. This is the worst 'service' I've ever experienced in my life.

I'll check out the online thing maybe they've shifted me to that without telling me.

Im with EDF but have never had a problem getting through to them usually in a couple of minutes... i am also on the monthly charge so they take the money by direct debit each month but i only get a bill 3 times a year, could that be the same as the one your on?

United utilities however are probably the worst customer service providers ever, moved to our house last november, rung up and told them even had them out to fit a water metre, yet still have no record of us living there...

I've never had any trouble getting through to EDF's call centre.

Must just have been lucky?

I'm with EDF and just received a paper bill for combined electric and gas so they are still sending out paper bills to some people (well us at least!)

EDF are horrific IME. Took me months last year to sort out the problem of them estimating bills (after i'd given them a meter reading) and trying to get me to pay £3k for 1 quarter Shock

I only sorted it in the end by threatening them with OfGem!

I switched to NPower after that and have never looked back.

I wouldn't go back to EDF if they paid me

There bloody awful, I've spent 4 months trying to get hold of them, no joy and no bill

Can't say I have ever had a problem with them, have you tried submitting a reading, that should generate a bill. I submit readings every 3 months, so bills are never estimated.

I only get them sporadically. Have just moved from one rental property from another, EDF supplies energy at both. Yesterday I spent over half an hour on hold to register myself at the new property, tonight I'll have to do it all again to give my final meter readings for the old one. Dreading it!

They did say something on the endless hold message though about upgrading their call centres and employing over 700 new customer service representatives. But still. Doesn't really help when you're stuck in a phone queue for 30 minutes.

I switched to Sainsburys EDF in 2009 as they promissed me loads of points and cheaper fuel. Got some points and it was costing lots more in fuel. After 12 months I switched back to EON and paying loads less. EDF then sent me two £40 invoices for switching before my contract was finished, I looked it up, it was a 13 month contract and I switched 10 days before the end date

However Switch says I should move to Npower, anyone been with Npower?

I'm with NPower furtree and never had any problems! If you switch to one of their online tariffs, they're pretty cheap too IMO

I'm with EDF but haven't had any problems. I have had a letter apologising for long waiting times when calling in due to a system upgrade from memory recently?

Would your account number be on your direct debit information if you log into your bank account?
