To think most people still have a fruit bowl?

My friend doesn't, and I think she's the odd one out.

She keeps her fruit, and chocolate Hmm in the fridge.

My 'fruit bowl' is a <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=small+round+wicker+basket&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1146&bih=718&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=zJ3VDvGAsfxY7M:&imgrefurl=www.welldressedtables.co.uk/products/Table_Accessories/Tableware/Wicker_Bread_Basket_Round/1090/&docid=xpPjmsou9r8YmM&w=300&h=300&ei=dnaHTv_zB8y78gOT44A1&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=327&page=2&tbnh=158&tbnw=158&start=15&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:15&tx=66&ty=103" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">wicker basket I got as a freebie full of crappy smellies from Grattan yonks ago when we were poor.

It's not swish by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm fond of it Smile

Although, taking it to the other extreme, I saw a lass on telly a bit ago having a go at her DP because he'd had an apple out of the fruit bowl when he should have got it from the cupboard Hmm

Her fruitbowl was for ornamental purposes only.

I bet she's the kind of person who irons her kegs and socks

My fruit bowl is a horrible big plastic thing that cost 99p on the market Grin

I must get around to buying a posh one, one day.

Though looking at the price of bloody fruit, I probably wouldn't be able to fill it Hmm

No fruit bowl here. I sometimes use my pretty cake stand though- but I do prefer cake.

Can't remember ever not having a fruitbowl. Mine's a huge slab of polished red river gum. 8 apples, 3 lemons.

I keep my apples in the fridge. We have a cool fruit bowl, made from green recycled glass. Very 90s.

If I put my fruit bowl on the coffee table, the boys will empty it within 2 days.

If I put it on the cupboard (3 feet away) the fruit goes mouldy as they don't think to eat it.

Bloody weird, that's what my kids are Hmm

We have a fruit bowl. It's yellow and it lives in the kitchen. Currently full of plums and peaches.

Chocolate, sweets and snacks (mainly for DD) are kept in a little wicker basket.

no fruit bowl. House is too warm and any fruit we place in a bowl rots within a day or two.

I have a lovely glass fruit bowl but it is kept far back on the kitchen counter-tops rather than accessible due to young child.

We are in the process of painting the kitchen though so it is full of brushes atm and the fruit is elsewhere.

Mary, but chocolate is not sold in drudges in shops so why would you keep it in your fridge once you get it home? Is your house particularly warm.? My inlaws keep their choc biscuits in the fridge too, I've never been able to work out why really. Confused

we have one, I don't like it though, DH bought it years ago before we lived together. A new fruit bowl never seems to get to the top of the to be purchased list, perhaps I'll put that on the Christmas list this year...

Just remembered that when DD's future HT and teacher came for a home visit when she was four, she not only curtseyed and made the sign of the cross but she insisted they take something from the bowl too Blush

We have a lovely wooden fruit bowl that was a wedding present from my db; it's fab. Why would you keep fruit in the fridge? Biting into a cold apple is horrible.
