I don't know any mums (pedant) that go to Iceland, or indeed any Iceland shops, where are they?

Report
BakerBinky · 01/10/2011 19:55

Tesco & sainsburys

I'm a Mum and I went to Icelands today. I also went to Sainsbury's and the 99p shop, because I like to shop around.
A lot of adverts irritate me. If I'm watching TV I pick the remote up as soon as the adverts come on and flick through the channels so I don't have to watch them.

OOH label-snob-shoppers!

Our local supermarkets all closed down for refurbs and Iceland was the only thing left open .... ok it doesnt have the variety but the FRESH (yes they do fresh) meat and veg was far better quality than Tesco.

For the brand-snobs .... Andrex and Heinz was always cut price.

Are dads not allowed to go to Iceland?

Report
BakerBinky · 01/10/2011 20:08

It's not the brand is the majoruty of their food, and adverts.

No dads aren't allowed!

The brand is grim, the shop is grim, the slogan is grim. As for those Christmas adverts with Katona and Jason Donovan. Good grief.....amazing how one advert was the nail in the social coffin for any kind of buffet or any kind of "mini" foods.........

Oh and they invented the word "swellegant". Dear god........

It's not really about the produce... If the slogan was "Mums go to Harrods", it would make me just as furious.

As an aside, is it "Mum's gone to Iceland" or "Mums go to Iceland"?

I think we should be told.
