Well yes, then we come to the 'food'...

worraliberty Sat 01-Oct-11 19:47:53

Yep and I reckon Björk went there before she ever had kids anyway.

GypsyMoth Sat 01-Oct-11 19:48:38

Nothing wrong with some of the food!!

TheVermiciousKnid Sat 01-Oct-11 19:48:57

It seems such a long way to go for some food.

BakerBinky Sat 01-Oct-11 19:49:17

Some of the food is fine but a lot of it is shite

GypsyMoth Sat 01-Oct-11 19:49:48

Bakerbinky...where do you go for your food shop?

southeastastra Sat 01-Oct-11 19:50:29

chocolat and coke is cheaper than tesco, actually lots of their stuff is cheaper than tesco.

i don't get the iceland hate myself, it's just a shop

MaryMotherOfCheeses Sat 01-Oct-11 19:51:42

YANBU. Outdated bollocks indeed.

TheVermiciousKnid Sat 01-Oct-11 19:52:56

But it's not the shop itself or the food, but the advert that is really annoying!

AuntieMonica Sat 01-Oct-11 19:53:32

tuck in kids only £1 for 8 burgers

some of it is shite i said <boak>

smartyparts Sat 01-Oct-11 19:55:30

I don't know any mums (pedant) that go to Iceland, or indeed any Iceland shops, where are they?

BakerBinky Sat 01-Oct-11 19:55:36

Tesco & sainsburys

fatlazymummy Sat 01-Oct-11 19:59:21

I'm a Mum and I went to Icelands today. I also went to Sainsbury's and the 99p shop, because I like to shop around.
A lot of adverts irritate me. If I'm watching TV I pick the remote up as soon as the adverts come on and flick through the channels so I don't have to watch them.

troisgarcons Sat 01-Oct-11 20:03:22

OOH label-snob-shoppers!

Our local supermarkets all closed down for refurbs and Iceland was the only thing left open .... ok it doesnt have the variety but the FRESH (yes they do fresh) meat and veg was far better quality than Tesco.

For the brand-snobs .... Andrex and Heinz was always cut price.

TheVermiciousKnid Sat 01-Oct-11 20:04:20

Are dads not allowed to go to Iceland?

BakerBinky Sat 01-Oct-11 20:08:46

It's not the brand is the majoruty of their food, and adverts.

No dads aren't allowed!

GypsyMoth Sat 01-Oct-11 20:10:26

Don't they do organic too??

What's wrong with the food then?

catgirl1976 Sat 01-Oct-11 20:10:59

The brand is grim, the shop is grim, the slogan is grim. As for those Christmas adverts with Katona and Jason Donovan. Good grief.....amazing how one advert was the nail in the social coffin for any kind of buffet or any kind of "mini" foods.........

Oh and they invented the word "swellegant". Dear god........

BakerBinky Sat 01-Oct-11 20:11:37

It's processed frozen shit

tethersend Sat 01-Oct-11 20:11:40

It's not really about the produce... If the slogan was "Mums go to Harrods", it would make me just as furious.

As an aside, is it "Mum's gone to Iceland" or "Mums go to Iceland"?

I think we should be told.

BakerBinky Sat 01-Oct-11 20:12:32

Thats why mums go to iceland
