basically as the subject says. I still have baby weight to lose and wondering what is hte norm

worraliberty Thu 29-Sep-11 17:35:45

I don't think there is a 'norm' really but I didn't gain any baby weight at all with my 3 DS's.

If anything I ate much healthier foods during pregnancy so once the babies and placenta etc were out...that was that.

at my 12 week check with ds1 i weighed 54kg. at my12 week check wth ds2 (4 years apart) i weighed 56kg so not much difference there. now, 2 years after the birth of ds2 i weigh about 60kg.

I weigh a few pounds stone more than before.

verytellytubby Thu 29-Sep-11 17:36:35

I'm a stone heavier. I put it down to being 10 years older and late '30's now.

booyhoo Thu 29-Sep-11 17:36:43

by 12 week checki mean 12th week of pregnancy

MrsSleepy Thu 29-Sep-11 17:38:54

I'm the same weight as I was before I had my eldest 9 years ago

I am going to go against the norm and say that I actually weighed half a stone less a year after my daughter was born than before I was pregnant. I didn't diet but my physical exertion and general knackery probably contributed to this!

I was 8.5stone when I got pregnant, went up to 10.5 with 1st baby and second one think I am going to be slightly bigger. Took me 6 months to get back to just under 8.5, but hovered at 9stone within 3 months. Breast feeding i think had a lot to do with it, and a baby that needed long walks to get to sleep.

gapants Thu 29-Sep-11 17:40:26

Oh and I am 35, was 32 with 1st baby, who is 3 now.

MadameCastafiore Thu 29-Sep-11 17:40:27

I weigh 10 stone 4lbs.

Funnily enough is the weight I was when I joined slimming world after having DD (who is 11) - I cried and cried on the way home that I was a big old heffer that day.

Have also had DS who is very nearly 7.

pocketfullofposies Thu 29-Sep-11 17:40:30

I'm about half a stone heavier but until recently I stuck at about 16 pounds over pre-pg weight. Finally losing it through running now so hopefully should be back to my original weight in the next couple of months.

Mine are 3.1 and 15 mo.

Incidentally, all of the baby weight from DD2 dropped off straight away and I went straight back to my pre DD2 weight, it's just that last stone that has refused to shift.

I turned 30 5 days before my first baby was born and like to blame being over 30 for that stubborn last stone rather than pizza and wine.

9.5 stone before, 9.5 stone now, youngest DC (have 2) is 15 months. I'm pretty much the same as before in size and physique (even, miraculously, my boobs). However, my stomach resembles a deflated bouncy castle and nothing I do seems to make it better sad.

camdancer Thu 29-Sep-11 17:41:26

I'm back to my lightest pre-baby weight. DD2 is 4 months old but has reflux so I've been doing a ridiculous elimination diet to try to work out what is causing it. Knowing that if you eat something wrong might make your baby sick and in pain is a very good motivator.

MrsSnaplegs Thu 29-Sep-11 17:41:38

2 1/2 stone heavier than pre children
Dc 6 and 9 months
Weight gain due to health issues not DC
1/2 stone lighter than pre DC2

PsychoThreadKiller Thu 29-Sep-11 17:42:18

I'm 40, btw

Elderberries Thu 29-Sep-11 17:42:28

I'll tell you after birth! But I think you may get some self selection on this thread of people who didn't end up 4 stone heavier. I think I'll be about 2 stone or more over when I have had my baby.

ShowOfHands Thu 29-Sep-11 17:42:49

I need to lose a stone.

DD is 4

DS is 3 weeks.

MerryMagdalene Thu 29-Sep-11 17:43:17

I'm 34 and tall (5'11)

Pre pregnancy I was a size 10 and weighed 10.7 stone

My kids are 6 yrs and 3 yrs and I weigh just under 12 stone and am a 12-14.

The closest I got to pre-pregnancy weight was 11 stone earlier this year, but that was due to stress and illness!

I dont mind being bigger than I was, but I would like to lose the slightly preggo looking belly. I've started running three times a week and doing pilates, so fingers crossed....

bintofbohemia Thu 29-Sep-11 17:43:37

Put on a shitload fair amount of weight with DS1, got some off then got up duffed again. Put on even more weight but then crash dieted and breastfed it off to lighter than I'd been in the first place. It's creeping back up slowly so have just joined the gym to nip it in the bud...

MerryMagdalene Thu 29-Sep-11 17:43:55

Put on 4 stone with DC1 and 2 stone with DC2 btw

bintofbohemia Thu 29-Sep-11 17:44:09

(Should say I don't advocate the crash dieting bit. )

9 stone at my first appt with MW when pregnant with DD in 2007. 8stone 10 ish at my first appt when PG with DS who is now 15 weeks. I am now probably 9 and a half stone. I don't think there is a normal really with baby weight as it so much depends on how each individual reacts and deals with any baby weight. My mum never lost hers wheras I have friends who immediately lose all theirs without even trying envy I stress mine off...

grumblinalong Thu 29-Sep-11 17:51:27

I'm 5ft 4 and 9 stone 4lb now.

DS1 is 8 yr
DS2 is the hell that is 3 yr
DD3 is 12 weeks

I'd say I was about 8.5/9 stone pre dc's but 8 years, 3 kids & turning 30 has seen my weight creep up slightly but I quite like having bigger boobs curves so not too fussed actually! Neither is DH grin
