while still being annoyed with her for being careless and not locking it up properly?

We live in a "nice" area and this is the second time in a year her bike has been stolen. There is an area in the little estate with a bike (rack? \park?) where people leave their bikes locked up and twice she hasnt bothered to get the keys out and lock it, just put the lock round and left it.

Whats really annoying is she hasnt been near it since last Tuesday or Wednesday till tonight so we dont even know when it went missing.

I really hope karma comes on the spineless thief but I am also very annoyed at her lack of responsibility! It wont be being replaced this time I am afraid.....

YANBU, bastards.

She's not sold it has she? only joking kind of i used to do that sort of thing i was 15 and a total nightmare though!

Yes yes to not replacing it, make her save up and buy her own it should teach her a sense of responsibility to look after things

haha I never thought of her selling it ! Id be grudgingly admiring if she had been that enterprising....

She is almost 12, first year at senior school, so old enough to be responsible about things like making sure its locked - especially after bike no 1 going walkies.

Its not her fault - but she could have prevented it? momma maybe an arm AND a leg would do it!

YABU. You would wish someone a lifetime of below the neck paralysis for taking an unlocked bike? Bit harsh really.

Whoever it was is still a git though.

Well it sort of is her fault leaving a bike unlocked and unattended for days. I guess if it was locked they might have just cut it off anyways.
