Courgette and onion, chopped up and liquidised.
So it must be damn good for me mustn't it
as it doesn't taste good

If that is all that is in it, no wonder it tastes shite woman!!! get some herbs and salt and pepper into it!

StealthPolarBear Sun 25-Sep-11 13:23:28

oh yes they're in too#but the bulk is courgette
And the lumps of courgette that failed to make it through the blender add an interesting twist envy

worraliberty Sun 25-Sep-11 13:23:28

Lol Squeaky beat me to it!!

Herbs, salt, pepper and a couple of stock cubes.

ThatStupidCat Sun 25-Sep-11 13:23:36

It doesn't sound that appetising, add salt!

StealthPolarBear Sun 25-Sep-11 13:24:29

Are you lot always this pedantic grin
Anyone written to heinz to point out their tomato soup should be called "Tomato, pepper and a pinch of salt" soup?

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:24:43

yummy that sounds disgusting very tasty and healthy wink

squeakytoy Sun 25-Sep-11 13:24:49

Put some cheese into it.. it wont be as healthy, but it will definately taste much better grin

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:26:01

for me its missing

cubed potatoes
couple stock cubes
a bit of nice chunky meat grin

squeakytoy Sun 25-Sep-11 13:26:15

I did write to complain to Heinz when they stopped making my favourite Celery soup actually grin

They probably thought I was a loon, but they did send me some vouchers... which were not much fecking use as I still couldnt buy the sodding soup!

StealthPolarBear Sun 25-Sep-11 13:26:25

oh that wold have been a good idea, but too late blush. it got better as I ate it - think my taste buds started to forget what nice food tastes like. And it's very filling!

StealthPolarBear Sun 25-Sep-11 13:27:24

It had salt and pepper and a few other bits - can't remember. The only tate it had was pepper.
Oh well, only another 10 bowls in the freezer to eat grin

squeakytoy Sun 25-Sep-11 13:27:51

I have realised that anything that tastes shite is usually very filling... very quickly... wink

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:27:54

I love soup leek and potato being a favourite here and also very healthy as well as easy to make.

squeakytoy Sun 25-Sep-11 13:28:54

Well you can add other stuff to the frozen ones after you have defrosted them. Some red peppers and pumpkin or butternut squash would be nice. And definately garlic, soup always needs a bit of garlic.

If all you could taste was the pepper, you definitely need stock cubes grin

Potato and Leek soup (with chicken stock cubes) is gorgeous!

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:33:19

Worra hmmm yep and home made bread yummy yummy <slobbers madly>

worraliberty Sun 25-Sep-11 13:35:58

Yep, the food of the Gods TLE grin

Mind you, I wish the soup didn't look like a puddle of green shit

But we can't have it all grin

squeakytoy Sun 25-Sep-11 13:36:44

Brocolli and Stilton or Pea and Ham are the best.. no question. smile

giveitago Sun 25-Sep-11 13:39:58

Not sure courgette lends itself to soup as it's boiled. Courgette is lovely little veg and needs olive oil (for some, butter) a bit fried or a bit grilled with seasoning and then some lemon juice. Not a main ingredient in soup, surely.

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:40:39

Worra, do you blend it? I prefer it not so,

I also do a mean chicken and veg soup which DS2 insists on being blended and having crusty bread with.

ohhhh I am sooooo hungry sob sob ready meals is all I can managed with 1 hand in use ffs. sad

worraliberty Sun 25-Sep-11 13:40:56

Oh I hate Courgettes

They're just wannabe cucumbers hmm

worraliberty Sun 25-Sep-11 13:42:06

Yes I blend it with a hand blender but not too smoothly

I was enjoying the smell of the lamb roast DH is cooking

Until DS2 crapped in the toilet and didn't open the window hmm

TheLadyEvenstar Sun 25-Sep-11 13:43:56

my favourite ingredients for soup

pearl barley

and anything else I fancy at the time.
