your landlord should have landlords insurance, as long as you have a crime number he should be able to make a claim

Call the police. The parents should be paying for the broken glass.

Call the police. Tell the parents you have HAD to to afford the repairs.

Why haven't you called the police? I would report a burglar on premises - that should get them there quicker. Then you ID the children to the police.

Last thing you ever do is confront the parents on their own territory. That is quite possible a route to getting a smack in the face.

Provided you have a crime number you havent breached terms of your tenancy.

It depends on your lease whether you are responsible or the landlord.

Tell them you'll have to ring the police to get your LL to replace the glass as he requires a crime number to claim on his insurance. If they don't want the police involved they fork out..and get the money beforehand.

I had to do the same when some idiot was playing gold on the field behind my house.

If the parents hadn't apologised profusely and offered to pay I would be in the phone to police in seconds...

Why did the children do this? And how? What did they use?

You need to contact the police to get a crime number in order for an insurance claim to be processed.
