To cut long story short, my son fell badly in PE yesterday, left his jumper outside in the playground to go inside to be cleaned up. By the time the class was dismissed and he was able to go and fetch it, it was gone.

Totally fed up, it has his initials in it and has only had it a week or so. He has asked all the class if thy have seen it and looked in lost property but no, nothing and am peed off!!!!!!! Angry

Speak to the secretaries and ask them to check with the dinner ladies and look in lost property too, children aren't the best at looking for things.

If it was labeled (as you say) it's identifiable.

It might turn up after the weekend as sometimes parents don't check or notice their childrens labels until they go into/come out of the wash.

It might take some time for it to turn up in lost property, or for someone to realise their DC has taken it home by mistake.

You have to be prepared for every item you send in with your DC to be lost at some point or another.

I only do the laundry weekly so dont notice until the weekend if DS accidently brings home something thats not his after PE. Plenty of time for it to turn up yet.

Often takes a day or two to turn up in lost property.

However, initials might not be enough to identify your DC. I put their whole name. Some initals are very popular. JB for instance - there are usually loads of those!

DD lost hers for 3 months last year! It turned up during the end of year clear out of classrooms and cloakrooms. It had her full name sewn into it too. On the other hand we never did find the pair of shoes she lost!
