AIBU?

AIBU to stop DH from watching TV in the bedroom?

I HATE Tv in the bedroom at night.... ~DH usally watches it untill he fall's asleep-wakes up to turn it off etc.

We have just given up our huge bedroom so our DD wont have to share with her brothers and are now camped out in the study... double bed just fits'... you cant even walk around it ;)

DH slaps the computer at the end of the bed on a table and has been watching films on it EVERY night for the last week despite me complaining about the noisy fan of the PC the fact its a teeny room etc.. he will often watch untill 2am - alarm goes at 645.

I am shattered and have said i want pc out of 'bedroom' and if he want to watch Tv there is a perfectly good tv in the livingroom...

His job is not particulary busy atm and he often sits watching film/scanning interweb drinking coffee at work waiting for somthing to happen whereas i get to feed dress 3 kids drag them to all to school drop one off then entertain 2 livley 2yr olds till 3 pick up dd make a propper dinner and 'play' till he gets in at 630pm

AIBU just to unplug the thing? and leave it in pieces on the table (still get internet on phone - mind you will have to also 'hide his phone in case he has the same idea i guess)

We only ever fight about this issue and he just dosnt get i have a problem with it - i just dont sleep well when there is a telly on... he should KNOW this weve been together over 10 years!!!

Studies have show that people who have TVs in the bedroom have less sleep and less sex. Who doesn't want more sleep and sex?

YANBU - I also hate the tv on when I'm trying to go to sleep (unless I'm the one who's turned it on and fell asleep Smile).

DP doesn't mind the tv being on and I do so he complys.

I like to watch tv in bed but i go up early so dh can gawp at sky sports for a bit and i can watch crap reality tv or suchlike. When he comes up to bed tho i switch it off unless we both want to see something.
I wouldnt be able to put up with this tbh,i need quiet to sleep.

YANBU.

Why did you give your DD the huge room and switch to a tiny room for both of you?

I'd boot him out onto the sofa, and failing that boot the bloody laptop out the window [window]

I'm with Jareth, why didn't you put DD in the study?

And YANBU about the telly in betpd thing. It is forbidden in our house, and will always continue to be so. I can't stand a telly in bedrooms.

there were 3 kids sharing 2yr olds and 5year old no one was getting anysleep. 5yr old behaving was also getting worse and she was often Very angrey at the twins for touching/playing with 'her' stuff - also worried about starting yr 1 and 'monsters' in her room (one of the twins talks in his sleep ;)

Since she has had her own room all 3 go to bed well and dont get up till 630-7am - they also get on alot better and i often find she will invite the boys in her room to play and vis versa

Cant afford a 3 bed place so this is what we came up with ;)

I don't get it. Why is your DD in a gigantic bedroom while the two of you are jammed into a teeny tiny study?

study is off the living room... so she would hear us in the evening just watching tv/putitng kettle on and wouldnt settle... bedrooms are at the front of the flat and are quieter

YANBU, it's an actual health hazard. Seriously, it's probably increasing your breast cancer risk - tell him that.

Choice of rooms aside, your DH is being inconsiderate. Have you actually told him that it's disrupting your sleep and asked him not to do it?

What time does he leave for work? Do you get a lie in at the weekends? Why cant he take the eldest to school? To me it seems like you are overworked and sleep deprived and there is more at play than the tv.

I have asked/told/shouted repeatedly over the last 10 years / over 4 house moves. If we have no telly he will watch films on his mobile... he has even promised he wouldnd't then i have found he waits for me to fall asleep then whips it out...

He just dosnt need as much sleep as me, and dosnt get why this pisses me off so much

nope no lie ins... I cant remeber the last time i slept past 8am. DH dosnt 'do; lie ins i have said we can take it in turns but hes not interested and the little whirlwinds come to jump on mummy to tell me they had nice dreams :)

He leaves for work at 730... dd school is 10min walk away she starts at 905... he aims (although he says he dosnt) to be up and out before the kids get up... that way i am left with breakfast/washing/dressing etc..

I am stressed out but my focas atm the minute is the bloody computer in my room and the old... if only i had more sleep i could cope ;)

He sounds like a prick!

I'd be kicking him out of the bedroom and onto the sofa until he stops being such an arse!

If he's got all that energy, I'd be getting him to get up and do breakfast and get the kids up and to school!
