I have a catsbum mouth when DD1 has it on, but for the same reasons as aldiwhore.

I wouldn't let a 4 YO watch it, but would they understand what was going on?

I hate Tracey Beaker.Care Homes for teens and children should not be shown as all twee and fun.It is far from the truth.

Never seen the program, but my 7 year old enjoys the books. My six year old picked them up and had a look at them. I don't know how much he could read (not much, I would imagine) but he said they were horrid and the people in the are nasty.

I like the premise that its a nice fantastical view of care homes, I like that it shows 'real' childhood dilemmas and children who aren't like my own in our cosy little nuclear family, I like that it relates to children for children.

I just find it annoying..... especially Tracey Beaker, though I love the following of her character through the years.

I also hate Danni's House. Horrible Histories and Sorry I've Got No Head are MY programs!!

My nearly 6 year old ds1 likes it which means ds2, 3, watches it which I don not like particularly. Ds1 just finds it funny tbh! He doesn't see too much in to it.

Stopped DS2 watching it when he was 4, he's now just turned 10 and thankfully realises it's a load of drivel. They all seem to just shout at each other.Hmm

It's all a bit twee, but bearable. Can't imagine a four year old getting much out of it though.

Now Timmy Time, that's another story. Bloody brilliant. You know he's trying to be cool, he's number one? He's joining all his friends on a big adventure, and they're always have such a lot of fun.

I enjoyed typing that.

Hate it as the kids often play mean jokes on people with no reprecussions and they talk to each other in a horrible manner, never let kids I looked after watch it. I do respect the point that it is showing children in different circumstances but could be done in a more positive way.

Laughing at this thread my Dd3 who is being assessed for ASD has had her Tracy Beaker obssession for round about 12 months now, she watches the same episodes over and over again, if she can't find one on TV she watches it on Iplayer.

It is her comfort blanket in times of stress. And the way she relaxes.

But I am sick of it

Although I have to say that I think I prefer Tracy to the Horrid Henry obssession that she had for 2 years before!!

And before anyone tells me to turn it off, I would invite you round to tryGrin.

I want to punch Tracey Beaker in her annoying big gob and pull out her freakishly curly hair - that gradually turns in to over-processed, straightened hair over the years Tracey Beaker was filmed.
I hate her and her irregular shaped body.
I also hate Danni's House.
