Now I am quite a patient and calm driver. I always calmly stop for pedestrians (and cyclists), and never get angry unless there is a valid reason.

Today, I have been out in the car twice, and both times about 4 people have crossed the road diagonally towards ME in my oncoming car.....NOW, don't get me wrong, it's fine to cross the road, but why THE HELL do some people cross the road like that? It means I have to slow down even more incase I run them over, and really, shouldn't you just cross the road in a straight fashion? Why cross the road diagonally, when you can walk a bit further on the other side and then cross the road straightly?

I never realised that these people annoy me so much.

No, if you cross diagonally you are essentially walking towards the oncoming car, albeit diagonally. If it's an old person (which they normally are) I have to slow right down so they get onto the pavement and not get run over.
