more than just that one dodgy, ill fitting white jacket with shoulder pads that looks like it's been in her wardrobe since 1982 that she always wears?

oh YANBU..... not at all, never, no NEVER in a MILLION years!

Even DS wandered past the telly and said Why is she wearing THAT?

Badly in need of a haircut, a nail file and a tone down on the makeup.

I know, I know, but I judge men too for the sake of equality. Not too keen on Andrew Marr's manbag either.

I imagine HD picks her clothes so as to create the impression she wants to -- she is a successful businesswoman and I doubt she leaves much to chance regarding how she wants others to see her, and the 80s big shoulder look is no doubt deliberate.

The judging on appearance thing is less straightforward than I used to think. Both men and women make choices about what to wear in the light of how they want to be perceived in a work environment, and also there are some norms that you would just have to be wilfully stupid to ignore. If you want to be taken seriously at interview for a job don't wear clothes that wouldn't usually go with the particular job -- you will be judged, and rightly so.

Also just as cringeworthy - male presenters in shiny topman suits and thin ties (e.g Dermot O' Dreary, Ant and Dec).

Apparently she wore it because she wanted to stand out and has been a massive fan of shoulder pads since the 80s, but regretted it when she realised she would have to wear it in the every episode (apparently all the dragons wear the same clothes in each ep).

I think she seems like a really nice woman. I imagine she would be very tough but great fun to work for. Ditto Deborah Meaden. Really don't like any of the blokes on DD - find them unnecessarily nasty and patronising.

I think she seems lovely and really like her (though I agree, the shoulder pads are shocking).

DP just does impressions of her all the time we're watching Dragons Den.

"Eeee love, I've got a trucking business ye know, them big burly men would love their toes nibbled by them there fishes." In a gravelly, northern voice.

Think they all wear the same thing in every show. Certainly, Deborah meagan always gets a new suit each series but then wears it the whole time.

She is ingrazia today talking about her designer dress collection and she looks a lot better than she does on dd.

I think Hilary Devey is fucking amazing. She doesn't and yet does give a shit.

I wish Deborah Meaden had given those fish people a bit more stick on the animal welfare front, though.

Yes, why does she have to wear a white coloured jacket every week? Why not mix it up a bit with some other colours? Weird.

She makes Deborah Meaden look like a beauty though. They are all very scary.

I wish she'd given the fish people a bit more stick about the fact theres a fish pedicure pleb magnet spa in every mall and on every street corner already...

I expected not to like her at all when I watched the trailers for this series.

I'm a bit in love with her now though, she's amazing!

I can understand Mrs Hooley from Balamory wearing the same outfit for a bit of continuity for a children's programme - but Dragon's Den? Do they think we might get the presenters mixed up if they vary their clothes? I still find it hard to watch without the none to flattering Harry Enfield sketch popping to mind...

The fish thing is just wrong. They'd be shitting other people's skin in the tank with your feet. The fish must survive about three days on that lifestyle.

I thought the whole sries was filmed on the same day?

That's why they're in the same clothes?

That said Phil, Kirstie and which ev er househunters they're helping this week wear the same clothes throughout. And they clearly say that it's 'day two of the search'.

Hilary Devey reminds me of Grace Jones. I like her.

They wear the same clothes because each programme is compiled from pitches made over the entire period of filming. It would be mighty useful for the producers if every individual day of filming they were presented with;

A convincing pitch that has them all interested yet falls down at the last minute due to the finer details

An idiot

A few less interesting pitches that don't get much airtime

A human interest pitch where they all love the entrepreneur but "its not a business"

A killer idea that they're all interested in resulting in investment

In that order Grin
