im pregnant with baby 4, all my others have been late and starting from 37 weeks people start pestering "have you had it, do you feel anything?"etc

so this time when anyone asks when baby is due i say late january/early february?

why do you think you are being unreasonable?

baby's come when they come, most not on their due date....

I would imply the layer option, or even say Mid July. Then ppl might not have time to start asking before it's born!

Better yet, tell them march 1st lol

Not unreasonable at all. I know people who have done this for the same reason.

Do people ask because they know how many weeks gone you are?

Or do they start asking when your belly looks so ginormous it seems impossible for the skin to stretch any further, let alone stay that big for another month?

I do know of someone who doesn't tell due dates, just that baby is due 'in the spring' but she's a bit of an oddball so that doesn't mean a thing

YANBU. I have never had a late one, but if my first had been late I would have added a couple of weeks onto my EDD.

YANBU. It might not work though. I did this with ds3 and people were asking me if I'd had him from about 30 weeks.

I'd be tempted to add a month on to whatever the actual date is, just to shut people up. DS was 10 days over and it felt like forever so you have my sympathy.

Just tell people a date two weeks after your official due date. Baby will be here by XX/XX
But people always find something annoying to say, ooh isnt it big, ooooh isnt it small etc, its just chit chat.

You are being very reasonable and very clever.
If I do ever have another baby I will steal your idea and do the same thing.

YABU. It's going to be pretty obvious when you're 9 months pregnant so not going to help much if you don't tell people!

I totally meant to do this with DS2 as it had bothered me so much with Ds1. But I forgot and actually it didn't bother me that much after all. But YANBU.

I am doing this - DD was 16 days late, so I'm telling people it's the end of that month rather than the middle of it. Gives me a bit of breathing space before the 'have you had that baby yet' texts and the sudden influx of calls from MIL just asking how I am Hmm Grin

YANBU I did this with DS just told everyone end of april, although there was little point as DH filled in most people in on the details Hmm

I would give 2 weeks after as my due date next time (if I have another) after DD was late, it was driving me mad everyone pestering. YANBU

I did this with ds1 and 2.
DD had been 2 weeks early and when I was pregnant with ds1 everyone was obsessed with whether he would come early again so I just told everyone May as he was due just after the middle and he came end of April. With ds2 it was around the beginning of the summer holidays and he came early again it was far better than the nagging from 36 weeks.
