...to think it's being a bit cheeky parking in a parent and child space when you don't use a car seat?

Now I know it says "parent and child" so any child is technically included, but I thought the point is to give you extra room to manoeuvre a push chair/trolly and/or open your door fully to get a kid into a car seat. I only have a two door car and need a ton of room to open it all the way to get my boy into the back seat.

Today at the grocery store I saw a dad with his 10 year old or so son getting into their car in the parent and child zone. The kid got into the front seat on his own. Frankly I think this guy was taking the mick, especially because they were giving me the eye until I actually pulled a child out of the back.

Opinions please!

<puts out homemade scones, jam and clotted cream>

if i leave these here while i put DD to bed can you save my seat please?

As my brother helpfully pointed out when parking in one with my mum - it says Parent and Child. She's the parent. He's her child. He's 38 tomorrow.

Honeydragon Sun 04-Sep-11 19:05:48

Op ..... I'll be nice, search parent and child spaces. You will then find the mumsnet consensus. It ain't pretty grin
