Yet again we had a couple of nice weeks in May/June, followed by a steady decline. Depressing, but not entirely unexpected. I'm just looking forward to being snowed in with bored twins for a month again this winter. Stocking up on the gin now.

YANBU - few nice days in April/May followed by a few odd good days in June (not all together). The only good days we had in the school hols were when we were away in Wales (which didn't share the good weather) so once again we have had not temperatures above about 22 degrees during the school summer holidays.

Shouldn't this be on the Unseasonal Weather For this Time Of Year, Mrs Goggins Board?

I'm in Wales and it has been crappy. Very few genuinely summery days this year.

It has been another crap summer. Can we please start a campaign to get the school holidays moved earlier in the year, like Scotland, so there's at least a remote chance of some sun for the poor children. Judging by the past few years, summer holidays should be moved to May.

I think the weather since the beginning of June has been utterly shite this year. This month has been dire. We normally spend August sat out in the back garden in the evening.. tonight we are sat here with the bloody gas fire on!

Thank god I am getting on a plane to warmer climes on Wednesday.. I cant bloody wait! Grin

Gutted that it's already going dark at 8.30pm but not surprised that the sunny days have been in the week when I am at work, exempt for one really hot Saturday I remember way back in June maybe.

We live in the UK, it's like that.

Been in Spain for a week, drove home in driving rain. Tons of washing and still more rain Angry
Finally some sun today, but still cold and windy Grrrr!

here in the SW it's been lovely, warm, sunny, all summer with hardly any rain

I wonder if I live in a different country when I hear people moaning about the crap weather.

I think it's been a largely dry, warm and sunny summer and I'm in Manchester Shock

YABU

We do not live in an equatorial country (well I'm sure someone here does, but MN is a British site). The weather has been completely normal for a British summer.

summer seems about as rubbish as normal as far as i can see

YABU. The weather is as we would expect for the UK and anyone who craves hot sweaty muggy weather is a bit strange anyway!

Roll on autumn :)

YANBU - even by Scottish standards this has been a crappy, wet summer. I have been forced to evacuate a campsite due to flash floods (in July!) so yes, truly dire. Now it is dry but soooo cold for the time of year.

On the plus side, we often get lovely Septembers, so fingers crossed...

Pample - what part of the SW? We had rain/drizzle for most of our holiday in Cornwall (still had a lovely time though) - we are back in Cornwall tomorrow - forecast looking good, fingers crossed Grin.

Indeed YANBU!

I shall compose a stern letter of complaint to the BBC weather forecasters, telling them it simply isn't acceptable Angry

Actually, I wonder if we're in for a good Autumn again? Don't they call it an Indian summer?

This year has been uber crap weather wise.

I camp the same 2 weeks in the same place every year and this was the driest 2 weeks there for a good few years and the weather was what I would call "fair" for the first week.

As for the rest of the summer. Well Easter was hot and sunny but because it was so early the evenings were still rather chilly so we didnt get any time then to have nice cevenings chilling in the garden.

We had a nice week in June and since then it has been crap.
We have not had 1 proper scorchio get down to the beach day the whole of the summer holidays. We live by the coast and have missed proper beach days.

The nice days we have had have been a surprise and not forecast so lovely that they are, we have had other plans etc so missed them.

What we have not had the whole of this summer break is a week or several consecutive days of "HOT" decent weather to plan BBQs and beach days and garden days!

I have been waiting all summer to get out pool up and its not been out the box yet. Think I may get a hot tub instead!!
