AIBU?

To keep the quitmeter running?

I am on Champix and gave up smoking for 14days. According to nhs quit clock I also saved a whole lot of money. Anyway for various reasons I had a blip starting last Wednesday. But today I will not smoke.

So do I keep quitmeter running showing now 18 days and oodles of cash saved?

It feels dishonest doing that but starting it again from today means I 'lose' all that hard work.

I know this is a daft aibu, it is only me that sees quitmeter! Not sure what to do though so will abide by the mumsnet wisdom....

What's the purpose of the 'quitmeter'? Is it a 'I haven't smoked for x number of days' or is it to show 'how much I've saved'?

I'd say if it's the first - start it again so it keeps you 'honest'. If it's the second, leave it 'running', you have saved that money by not smoking for that period of time.

If it makes you feel better and more likely to keep going, let it run. If you will feel guilty and think you have cheated, restart.

And well done, its not easy, but you will feel and see a huge huge difference.

No idea how quit meter works, but can you take a screen shot or save the page so you still have a record of that 18 days? Otherwise if you can have a blip without resetting, you will have no incentive to resist another blip, iyswim.

Nooooooooo it isn't even as if you got pissed and had just one is it? Quitmeter goes back to zero I'm afraid. You do the crime you do the time and all that. YABU and you know it. Good luck with the not smoking though Smile

Oh fuck it.

Quitmeter is time and the cash.

You are all right damn you

Having one, trying to decide what to do with the three left, and resetting for now. I am so fed up with self. Did not even get much from them apart from the smell because of the Champix. That is a good idea about screen shot though, 14 days is the longest I have done without in thirty years! Now off to make show it says the truth before screen shoting (?!!) as I have let it run over past few days.

Take the 3 left outside and crush them into oblivion with your foot! Glad to hear that Champix takes away the pleasure, anyway. Good luck!

Sorry, but I'd say re-start.

I know how difficult it is (15 months quit here), but you have to be honest with yourself. I also agree with Mandy and think you should destroy the remaining 3. If you smoke them, you're letting the drug be in control of you rather than the other way around.

Well done on 14 days, though. It's a great achievement and one on which you can build. Good luck!

Reset it, otherwise you are cheating, and you might find it easier to cheat next time.

Well done for getting this far, though, and good luck with it!
