Apparently, it's caused by silica dust. Is that the same as silicon? What's that stuff in new shoes stuff called? The stuff you shouldn't eat. Is that the same too?

There is no longest German word. You can form compounds of any length and they do. My German dictionary suggests one which I have expanded:
Vermogenszuordnungszustandigkeitsubertragungsverordnungengultigkeitsdatm

the date upon which the regulations about allocating responsibility for assigning assets come into force!

Should be datum at the end, damn it, and of course I have omitted the umlauts.

Can't believe you omitted the umlauts Andrew - you should have indicated umlautage by adding an 'e' after the umlautless 'u'.

I know, BikingViking, I learnt that before the parents of most MNers were born - but that would have buggered the number of letters.

Does the volcanosis bit only come from cone shaped silicon breasts?

Sorry - I meant to add a Wink at the end of the post, but ds woke up and I pressed 'post' quickly without thinking then didn't even come back to the thread Blush

Here's a peace offering - ü and I'll even throw in some free ø, æ and å's while I'm at it :o

All right, BikingViking - how do you do an umlaut in this forum?
