I don't want scented sanitary towels or ones that are 'pretty,' I just want them to do the job they are supposed to do! There's no need to make them 'pretty,' no one's going to see them and they will change colour anyway.

And tell them their 'discreet' packaging is completely pointless.

It is very evident to everyone if you have a plastic wrapped package with daisies or whatever printed on it that you are carrying sanitary products.

It doesn't bloody matter, it is nothing to be ashamed of, why make it all twee and girly. Just package it in plain white bags. It doesn't need to be fucking pink and twirly.

Gah! I loathe those adverts.

Mildly amusing anecdote time:

Whilst working for a large communications company we had to do one of those terrible ice breaker things on a course I absolutely did not need to be on. You had to stand up and tell the group something amazing about yourself. I stood up and said:

'Every 28 days my uteral lining sloughs it's part of the rich tapestry of the human life cycle.'

Then sat down. This ice breaker was never used again and I never had to go on any more useless courses.

I avoid scented ones in the (possibly mistaken) belief that scented products cause thrush...

YANBU because they're twice the price of supermarket ones, which are exactly the same without the poncey smell

Why the hell do you need to have scented products near your minge?

Report
CadleCrap · 20/08/2011 17:02

Grin @ tigga

YANBU - bloody hate the "have a happy period" too.

However, I'm a recent mooncup convert so their marketing is wasted on me Grin

freshly laundered my minge arse

nickelbabe · 20/08/2011 17:02

yes please.

i don't want one that looks pretty, either.
those fancy weaves on the top make me itch.

oh! i also don't want to be forced to have fucking wings either - I want night time pads that have NO wings so that I can move them about once i've put them in my knickers, because believe it or not, I don't know the exact position of the gusset seam in every pair of knickers I own Angry

While you're at it you should tell them to stop bleaching them as well and using all the unnecessary crap that they do.

Or just switch to these which work just as well as Always but have less of the chemical stuff and no ridiculous gimmicks. I found them less plasticky as well despite Always' "breathable" claims.

But why are they called 'Always' ????

My mum always told me to avoid scented, coloured toilet paper and sanitary products ....

belledechocchipcookie · 20/08/2011 17:04

Why would you want something artificially scented near your fanjo? You don't squirt perfume up there. Silly.

GetOrf Kotex ones used to be just plain white packaging, and often cheaper too. Not sure now, as the shop near me stopped selling them.

Supporting the hatred of plasticcy pads. Being on a period is minging (my iPad wanted that to say minting, technology fail!) enough without the sweaty horribleness that plastic causes!
