I don't want scented sanitary towels or ones that are 'pretty,' I just want them to do the job they are supposed to do! There's no need to make them 'pretty,' no one's going to see them and they will change colour anyway.

yanbu
discreet and comfy would do.
please post any answer.

sloggies Sat 20-Aug-11 16:51:07

YANBU. I agree.

PersonalClown Sat 20-Aug-11 16:53:00

Can you tell them to Fuck Right Off with their 'Have a Happy period!' while you're at it please?

belledechocchipcookie Sat 20-Aug-11 16:53:36

grin

GetOrfMoiCarbsClaire Sat 20-Aug-11 16:56:28

And tell them their 'discreet' packaging is completely pointless.

It is very evident to everyone if you have a plastic wrapped package with daisies or whatever printed on it that you are carrying sanitary products.

It doesn't bloody matter, it is nothing to be ashamed of, why make it all twee and girly. Just package it in plain white bags. It doesn't need to be fucking pink and twirly.

who used to make black panty liners years ago?

bring them back

i quite liked them

DawnTiggaFashionGoddess Sat 20-Aug-11 16:58:53

Gah! I loathe those adverts.

Mildly amusing anecdote time:

Whilst working for a large communications company we had to do one of those terrible ice breaker things on a course I absolutely did not need to be on. You had to stand up and tell the group something amazing about yourself. I stood up and said:

'Every 28 days my uteral lining sloughs it's part of the rich tapestry of the human life cycle.'

Then sat down. This ice breaker was never used again and I never had to go on any more useless courses.

I avoid scented ones in the (possibly mistaken) belief that scented products cause thrush...

YANBU because they're twice the price of supermarket ones, which are exactly the same without the poncey smell

DontGoCurly Sat 20-Aug-11 16:59:55

hahaha @ Tigga! Brilliant.

mousymouse Sat 20-Aug-11 17:00:33

the black ones stained thedesk chair at my work blush
very embarassing

GetOrfMoiCarbsClaire Sat 20-Aug-11 17:00:59

Why the hell do you need to have scented products near your minge?

CadleCrap Sat 20-Aug-11 17:02:10

grin @ tigga

YANBU - bloody hate the "have a happy period" too.

However, I'm a recent mooncup convert so their marketing is wasted on me grin

mousymouse Sat 20-Aug-11 17:02:25

just the smell makes me itch
freshly laundered my minge arse

nickelbabe Sat 20-Aug-11 17:02:44

yes please.

i don't want one that looks pretty, either.
those fancy weaves on the top make me itch.

oh! i also don't want to be forced to have fucking wings either - I want night time pads that have NO wings so that I can move them about once i've put them in my knickers, because believe it or not, I don't know the exact position of the gusset seam in every pair of knickers I own angry

BertieBotts Sat 20-Aug-11 17:04:03

While you're at it you should tell them to stop bleaching them as well and using all the unnecessary crap that they do.

Or just switch to these which work just as well as Always but have less of the chemical stuff and no ridiculous gimmicks. I found them less plasticky as well despite Always' "breathable" claims.

Itsjustafleshwound Sat 20-Aug-11 17:04:14

But why are they called 'Always' ????

My mum always told me to avoid scented, coloured toilet paper and sanitary products ....

belledechocchipcookie Sat 20-Aug-11 17:04:22

Why would you want something artificially scented near your fanjo? You don't squirt perfume up there. Silly.

mousymouse Sat 20-Aug-11 17:04:31

can we have a campain for a standartised gusset seam?

nickelbabe Sat 20-Aug-11 17:05:09

was aboutto applaud your cottons idea, but then I have seen that they've all got fucking wings too !!!

belledechocchipcookie Sat 20-Aug-11 17:05:43

I used to use those Bertie but bloody Boots stopped selling them so I can't get them here. angry

Itsjustafleshwound Sat 20-Aug-11 17:06:04

And sensible cotton knickers .... grin

ProcrastinatorGeneral Sat 20-Aug-11 17:06:29

GetOrf Kotex ones used to be just plain white packaging, and often cheaper too. Not sure now, as the shop near me stopped selling them.

belledechocchipcookie Sat 20-Aug-11 17:07:04

Kotex are like nappies though.

KimberlyClark Sat 20-Aug-11 17:07:19

dear god mousymouse what were you wearing?? surely you weren't nude except for a pantyliner?? shock
