1. a dachshund puppy

2. an iPad

3. an iPhone

4. Maltesers

5. a couple of good books

6. a weekend off

7. a harp

8. a Nissan Figaro

I don't think any of them are unreasonable suggestions. DH does.

GeraldineAubergine Sat 20-Aug-11 10:22:53

All of those are reasonable things, however you have missed off: three boxes of chocolates, 2 bottles of champagne and a pony called Nigel.

AtYourCervix Sat 20-Aug-11 10:23:29

The cat's called Nigel so the pony would need to be something else.

ZillionChocolate Sat 20-Aug-11 10:24:15

Nigella?

GeraldineAubergine Sat 20-Aug-11 10:24:26

Jeremy then

ZillionChocolate Sat 20-Aug-11 10:24:49

What does he think you should request?

Andrewofgg Sat 20-Aug-11 10:24:57

Watch it, OP, you are annoying the dog-lovers, the chocolate-haters, and the greenie-I-don't drive brigade all at one go!

MumToTheBoy Sat 20-Aug-11 10:25:02

There's no harm in 'requesting'. Doesn't mean you will get them ALL!! My ds (5) requests stuff all the time but only gets what we can afford/ deem necessary.

I predict you will get maltesers and some books...

Katisha Sat 20-Aug-11 10:25:02

It's the maltesers that tip it over the edge.

AtYourCervix Sat 20-Aug-11 10:25:21

He's a man crap so asked for suggestions. I give him suggestions and he spurns them. Nobber.

ChaosTrulyReigns Sat 20-Aug-11 10:25:34

Do you need recommendations for them there books?

<<buys maltesers>>

<<chucks them at Crevix>>

AtYourCervix Sat 20-Aug-11 10:26:30

yes please.

I want such simple gifts when my birthday occurs,
Two apartment buildings that are labelled "Hers" and "Hers"...

Andrewofgg Sat 20-Aug-11 10:30:43

Put the harp in the kennel and the dog in the living room.

As a matter of fact among musicians the harp is sometimes known as the cheese-slicer.

LordOfTheFlies Sat 20-Aug-11 10:39:04

My list is very simple and minimalist:

A horse
2 greyhounds
A drying cupboard
A good run round Hotel Chocolat
Washable cashmere twinset

I wouldn't know what to do with an iPad or a iPhone.
Hotel Chocolat knocks your maltesers into a cocked hat
dachshund? My 2 mythical greyhounds would eat it like sucking up spaghetti

tabulahrasa Sat 20-Aug-11 10:42:19

No unicorn? Surely you want a unicorn?

purplepidjin Sat 20-Aug-11 10:54:53

Ask for a Nissan Skyline instead of a Figaro - you might have more luck!

Anniegetyourgun Sat 20-Aug-11 10:56:17

I wanted one of those huuuuuuge boxes of mixed Lush stuff for Christmas one year. Like, a hundred quid of non-fattening self-indulgence.

XH wouldn't let me have it.

Even though I would actually be paying for it.
