There's a link on MN to an innocent smoothie campaign.

Knit a tiny pointless hat for a bottle of Innocent smoothie and they will donate money to Age UK to keep old people warm.

Why can't they knit something useful that can be donated? I don't know what, but there must be something - knit a woolly square to be added to a blanket? knit a hat for a premature baby? knit a fake breast, even.

But a small knitted hat for a fruit based refreshment? No, no, no. Not in my name.

And flay me now if I am wrong.

But, these hats make me buy innocent smoothies. I just can't resist them, and neither can the DC...so that's 4 more smoothies sold every time we go to Sainsburys.

Innocent aren't stupid....they know these hats up sales, and at the same time they donate to age concern. Good all round.

(And our action men and barbies all have their own bobble hats, and look very fetching. )

We went to my parents' at the weekend and my mum is on a one-woman mission to give every Innocent Smoothie in the country a hat, I think. She's knitted loads of them!

I must admit that we do usually buy several hatted little bottles each Autum. The dds used to use them as Barbie or cuddly toy hats; now they are teenagers they just pin them on their noticeboards, I think.

I just can't get over a corporation inciting people to knit for charity and the end product being something that's given away to consumers. Innocent could donate to Age UK ANYWAY, or get people to knit something that can be donated for good.

I would stop buying their smoothies and switch to the sainsburys version if that had two portions of fruit in it instead of one because i am a lazy arse who hates cutting fruit up for the dc

Lisa is just a truly amazing lady who is managing to make something positive come out of horrendous personal tragedy.

It's hard to make old people seem fun and funky, and innocent have manged to do that.

But I agree that it is silly. If they are going to get folk to knit, why can they not knit something that can be used?
